i had 3 races over the weekend. 2 were easy (a pontiac sunfire and an eagle talon). the 3rd one was more fun and yesterday. it was against an old friend who was in town. he's got a little hopped-up turboed volkswagen gti golf. i still won prettily easily against him, but that's a good car he's got. he said it was his first loss. i was cruising out to the golf course when he came off one of the mesas. i went around the roundabout a good deal after i first saw him. i caught up when he got stopped at the light in front of texaco. i was stuck behind a car though, i had to wait for the car to move out of my way. the car moves and i speed up, as does sean. i finally pass him about the intersection that's past the high school over pass, except he slows down now and turns left in front of the hospital. i was going to fast to do that, so i drive 100 feet or so to the next intersection and u-turn. i catch up with him before the road starts to curve and you come around to my house. i get next to him and wait for him to get on it. as soon as he gets on it, i hit the gas and i start pulling (i also noticed that his exhaust sounded very good too). we get up to where i'd have to turn off to my house (just using this as a location reference) and begin to slow because the light ahead is red (the cop station is right there too). i'm in the left lane behind a car, he'd in the right behind 2. i make my way around my car and he follows, so we take off again while cruising by the town pond and i gain some good car lengths on him. i slow a bit for a bend and so does he. we make it through the bend where i give it a bit of gas and let off (near sonic), hoping for another go with him. he's back maybe 2-3 cars when he starts to floor it. i let him get a little closer and i take off. we go for maybe about 1000 feet with me in the lead and getting more car lengths on him and i slow down a good deal. i let him fly by so he can get in front and turn left into the hilltop house hotel parking lot. i pull up next to him and we talk a lit |
