I am waiting for a remastered PHM actually. The one thing
lacking in his catalogue. I picked up Downward Spiral
deluxe version, which is sweet.

Something else to add to the list I forgot:
65daysofstatic | The Distant And Mechanised Glow Of Eastern
European Dance Parties

Portishead - Third
Nine Inch Nails - Ghosts

That Guillemots album is a bit shit actually. I hate that
80's cheese.

The m83, I'm really impressed by excepting the needless
final track, i.e. 11 min+ drawn out synth notes.

I don't think I've listened to any of those albums. (yeah
not the ae yet I know)
Most of the good music I've bought has been from the past.
Best purchase has been "follow the rainbow" by George Duke
circa 1979

There's the debut by Crystal Castles for moody synth pop:
http://www.allmusic.com/cg/amg.dll?p=amg&sql=10:wzfuxztjl...

Other stuff leaked during Q1:
Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds - Dig Lazarus Dig
Nine Inch Nails - Ghosts I-IV
The Raconteurs - Consolers Of The Lonely
The Charlatans - You Cross My Path

ps: to the guy who asked what gets deleted, probably the
Guillemots, Fuck Buttons (not my thing), Mount Eerie - Black
Wooden Ceiling Opening, The Mars Volta.
The new Malkmus is surprisingly brilliant.

after hearing exillion's new album was in an acid style, i
was really hoping it would be along the lines of the Horn of
Jericho remix. i mean, that track is COOL. if anyone
is familiar with exillion and can recommend some similar
stuff to this track? maybe? THANKS

speaking of crazy acid stuff, The Doubtful Guest - Acid
Sauna is pretty mad.
i'll also agree with all the mentions of NIN - ghosts and
Kelpe - Ex-Aquarium.
Cylob - Late in the Day is good too if you're into cylob's
recent material (temple clap!)

not too into crystal castles, but that's just me. not too
into clark's turning dragon.
barry lynn's balancing lakes is alright, but i prefer his
boxcutter stuff.

Nearing the end of Q1. The final crop of notable leaks:

The Notwist | The Devil, You + Me
-enjoyable
Thee Silver Mt. Zion Memorial Orchestra & Tra-La-La Band |
13 Blues for Thirteen Moons
-pretty good, actually.
Matmos | Supreme Balloon
-disappointing (for me)

J Christ NiN is pumping out music all of the sudden. Btw,
what does that REM album sound like, I caught a snippet
saying it was a welcome return or something. I grew up
listening to all of their 80s/early 90s stuff.

As for 2008:

Francisco Tristano - The Melody Remixes
Future Beat Alliance - Hidden Emotion

almost all the above are not very good
seriously demoralizing dudes!
have you bought any actually great releases in 2008, as
opposed to these "best" ones
seems like 1974 was far ahead of 2008 as far as i can see
it's like saying 'the best sex i had this year was on feb
14th, even tho it involved me being banged by 15 men at a
glory hole'

i'll agree on the matmos being disapointing. it was alright

expectations.
i liked the first song and all, but kinda lost interest
pretty quickly.

best: the discovering of bvdub and others, to me, unknown
records from 1996-2007 + demos from various forummembers
around the world

worst: quaristice! (2 bented LP-editions from warpmart + the
spec. ed)

rockin` :)

Wooden Ceiling Opening. so far this is a far less exciting
year for music for me than 2007.
