well, the price of steel has risen tremendously over the
past few years.

this come as no surprise.

if it goes for that much I'm selling mine. I could get a
colonic irrigation and 10 cans of mountain dew for that.

That is just crazy. Over £100 already? I hope Warp make
some more just to fuck over the people who bought the record
just to sell it on.

Fuuucking hell. I wish I had ordered two :P

Nah, I'm not one of those fake fans who just wants to make a
fast buck.

But fair play, £100 = one eighth of an elektron
monomachine....

offline Brisk from selling smack at the orphanage on 2008-03-07 13:41 [#02182769]

the auction strikes me as a little bit dodgy actually. the
names are private, the price is over £100 within hours of
it being listed... the seller probably just got his friends
to bid those amounts to generate interest/hype and maybe
even over-value the record. this is the cynic in me anyway.

I'm tempted to bid some ridiculous amount and leave bad
feedback or "Ask seller a question" and ask why the fuck
he's such a bad "fan".

you're not necessarily a "bad" fan just because he flogs it

hmm, he's not supporting either Warp Records or Rob and Sean
by doing this, more cheating them really.

they knew all to well that this would fetch some monies on
the aftermarket, if they wanted a piece of the pie they
would sell it for 100 quid themselves

Yeah I guess....

But still, I think having the intent to sell it totally
removes the joy of listening to the music. The guy wore
gloves while handling it for God's sake and has only played
it once. Overkill!!!

years then sell it... it's not sony ps3 or anything

futureimage: how do you know sean and rob dont have 500 of
their own copies to slowly pawn off ebay in the coming
years?

that would be a bad ass albeit sneaky way to make money

im pretty sure coil did this with astral disaster, they only
said they printed 100 copies and then magically their best
friend on their own mailing listed started doing private
Astral disaster auctions regularly where copies would go for
over $100 a pop.
