I don't know if I've seen it anywhere, and you're obviously
a huge fan, so what's your fav RDJ album? And anyone else
for that matter...

mine is ICBYD, although SAW85-92 is making a nice
challenge...

Mine is Drukqs, closely followed by I Care Because You Do
and Selected Ambient Works Volume 2... and the Richard D
James album is pretty close, too... damn, that guy's good.

idunno about drukqs, i mean it was definately good... but it
didn't have anything on it that hit me as hard as half the
shit on i care because you do, or come to daddy for that
matter

I love all of the Aphex albums I have, but ICBYD is just
slightly better then all of em... and SAW85-92 is pretty
brilliant in my opinion... I love the more melodic style of
RDJ so these are perfect for me...

lol I'm just making some tounge-in-cheek commentary on the
fact that everyone is responding to "Phobiazero: what's your
favorite..."

true true
so i see no need to continue insulting drukqs (even if it
did suck compared to his other shit, it was still better
than most anything else out there)

Keep dreaming, buddy!!! :-)

If I have to change identities someday, I want to be Pachi.
He's simply adorable with that innocent ape face.

yeah but he's ignoring you because you suck or maybe it's
because ophecks sucks... i'm not quite sure yet, i'll have
to do some reasearch on the subject

Ophecks i think i agree with you, drukqs is prob the best,
most diverse album he's done.

Points: 2849 Status: Lurker

well..funkmaster did say 'and anyone else' in the original
post

hmmm...i really cant pick one favorite...i tend to like
individual tracks from all his albums... i guess saw2 works
best as an album though

offline Ophecks from Nova Scotia (Canada) on 2002-03-25 00:04 [#00140240]
Points: 19190 Status: Moderator | Show recordbag

I think maybe I Care Because You Do is his ''best''... it's
so nicely balanced and crafted and all that yummy stuff. But
I like Drukqs' style... it's just personal preference. It's
fucking FULL of flaws, and ICBYD isn't.

offline The_Funkmaster from St. John's (Canada) on 2002-03-25 00:05 [#00140243]
Points: 16280 Status: Lurker

I think SAWII is pretty brilliant, but I haven't had it long
enough to have fully digested it all... I need more time to
get into it...

offline The_Funkmaster from St. John's (Canada) on 2002-03-25 00:06 [#00140249]
Points: 16280 Status: Lurker

I think Drukqs is pretty fucking awesome as well... and
pretty much perfect, with a bit of filler, but that doesn't
bother me that much cause the tracks I'd consider filler
aren't very long... the only thing is it gives me a headache
after a while... it's freaking awesome though!!!! It's the
good headache kind... :)

offline pantalaimon from Winterfell (United Kingdom) on 2002-03-25 00:08 [#00140259]
Points: 7090 Status: Lurker | Show recordbag

i know what you mean, but some of the tracks on drukqs just
blow me away and i like the piano interludes too. If only it
wasn't for the filler tracks. It didnt seem to flow well
either but still, there is enough good stuff on there to
rate as one of his best

offline Ophecks from Nova Scotia (Canada) on 2002-03-25 00:11 [#00140272]
Points: 19190 Status: Moderator | Show recordbag

I don't think there's too much filler... a couple piano and
other short tracks don't do anything for me, but the
majority of them are fucking great! Klavbdung Michsk is
incredible!

But Gwarek 2, Lornaderek... that just gets on my nerves.

purchased.....SAW II. i listen to it and never get tired of
it. it's classic in my book.

btw.....i am NOT phobiazero =0)

is come to daddy an album? it's was my first introduction
into RDJ works and holds a special place in my heart! i
consider it an album, sort of a mini-album. i don't really
think of it as an ep. so my answer is come to daddy.

i agree with AlbertoBalsalm here...Come To Daddy is THE
perfect album/mini-album.

But nothing beats I care because you do.

I'm sure phob's fave is "absolute Beginners - the motion
picture soundtrack". Extra points for the bowie connection.

yes, Come to Daddy is perfect, while I Care is not quite,
but I Care is so damn excellent it's not funny... only one
song I dislike (ventolin) the others are each excellent...

- Wabby Legs
- Metapharstic
- [match sticks]
- Polynomial C

There you go.

Funkmaster: Yeah ventolin destroys that flawless album, its
a classic essential album tho but I cant stand ventolin (the
remixes are dope no doubt).

I think ventolin is a break from all the 'head in the
clouds' parts of ICBYD. It seems more intense and scary. But
then again it does seem out of place.
