Big yays.
Thought i was going to have to wait months longer to get
this but thankfully not. It was everything i wanted it to
be.

I ordered the dvd online the other day, still waiting for
that one to arrive but the soundtrack for it arrived today
so i've been listening to that very happily.

Did anyone else see Control?
Thoughts?

I grew up listening to great music like this because of my
dad.
He was lucky enough to have been at their last gig at the
Birmingham University union bar.
Apparently, they were amazing.

I didn't know the movie was out, even! Need to get on it, I
suppose, although I'm not really interested in any of those
guys past their music.

It's a seriously seriously good film. Got the soundtrack, I
really need the DVD but I've got no money at all at the
moment...

i didn't go to HMV, you know why.

got it from woolworths.

extras: commentary, extended performance scenes of the
actors doing Transmission, Leaders of Men and Candidate,
Making of Control, music video for Atmosphere (1988),
photos, trailer.

standard fare really.

what you don't get: a clothes line to be just like your pal

The Cure is a seriously under appreciated band. They had so
many great songs, but alas they have been pigeon holed by
their fans.

directly in half or just generally frustratingly throwing
randomly at the nearest wall?

yeah this was a great film, its a british production so no
over the top melodrama... really well put together and b/w
is stunning! The live performances are surreal, its like
watching Ian Curtis for real

watched this last night with a friend.........

I liked the way Ian was portrayed...... flawed, lost,
emotionally immature, rather than romanticising him (or
maybe it was romanticising).

Either way, tears were shed at the end.......

yeah, i saw it at the cinemas last year (or was it this
year..).
didn't really care much for joy division at the time, and i
really had no idea who this ian curtis fella was. but i
really enjoyed the film.
i was kinda jealous of all the joy division fans who
actually got a really good biopic made for curtis.
