What's wrong? I quite like this band. Well, it's not the
sort of thing I'd buy, and I don't really enjoy listening to
the songss that much, but I think they're nice laddy
childboys and can play very catchy musics. Better than all
the other horrendous self-conscious english indie-whatever
rock poo that's invading the world, at least.

closer - I think they also have arms, and a mind an.

Actually, I am not joking. I think you are just being an
angry man. I respect what I've heard from the Arctic
Monkeys. I don't love them and I wouldn't go out of my way
to listen to thems, but I do think they're alright. I just
saw an interview with them on VH1 and they came across as
humble fellows.

But Franz Ferdinand are boring shit, as are most other bands
of that ilk.

...not a bait, just naive.

I am sorry it made you very cross, though. You could always
hit a real human in pub.

What's wrong is that you make a topic where you feel you
have to excuse yourself for liking good music.

I don't know who the Arctic Monkeys are, but I remember
Twinsen's Odyssey and what a strange journey that was!! I
think that was one of the first games we got on our first
real family comp. We also had this live-action murder
mystery game that had Christopher Walken in it. I don't
remember what it was called, but the open credits had Blue
Oyster Cult's "Don't Fear the Reaper". It was a very blurry
game. And the year was 1997. (sound of looping ocean
sounds)

to this game I remember.

I can't believe they made this game, an obscure Walken
goldmine!! I can't watch these scenes without laughing. I
wish I had kept this one, it had something like seven
CD-Roms that you constantly take out and put back in.
Sorry.

I like em.
first album is way better than the second, though. also,
they play way too fast live.

:)

No, it's more like I'd heard lots of people whine and slate
them, and usually this style of music is upsetting, and I
had somehow avoided hearing their sounds until the other
night, and then I was nicely surprised (what? This is them?
I like them?) and then spat out thread.

I think most people's resentment is born out of the
press/media hype surrounding them through. They're a fairly
inoffensive bunch of Northerners with guitars making average
indie-rock. Not much to love, but not much to hate, either.

What gets my goat (and presumably others') is the way they
were hyped to the hilt saying they were going to be the next
Beatles. No, they won't. They won't even be the next Oasis.
They will be around for another 5 years, 10 max and then
disappear. Other claims were that the way they had been
discovered through myspace meant that all new acts would be
sought out through social networking sites and A&R would
forever be completely different, which again is total
bollocks.

I live with someone from Sheffield. To him these spotty
plebs are god. I endure them while I do my cooking, eat my
food and then do my washing up. This, however, is special
time for me as it removes me from my room, a place where I
can hear the high pitched whine of that bird from Cascada
pretty much on repeat for most of the day whilst the mannish
troll of a girl from whos room it eminates stomps around
claiming it to be 'propah electrow'.

Thank god my stereo is louder than hers.

I quite like this band, having grown up in the North of
England, I understand where they are coming from. It makes
me think of when I was 17/18, although I would have hated
them then. I think I was obsessed by Godflesh around then
(still am to be honest)

a world weary sigh and it's all indie cept it's not but

like it's 1999 oooh missus

i don't mind them because i can't honestly remember hearing
one of their songs ever. same with bloc party. franz
ferdinand, they had one pleasant-when-drunk song. all these
pop rock bands are hard to follow.
