I just read on Brainwashed that Peter Christopherson (Coil, Throbbing Gristle) has started a new project with Ivan Pavlov (whom I know nothing about) called SoiSong.
Details can be found here, with a sample mix to be listened to here.
I think this sounds really good from what I'm hearing. Anyone else interested?

If not for Coil there may well have never been an Aphex Twin or Autechre. In fact, according to Wiki the term IDM came from some review calling Love's Secret Domain "intellegent techno."
If these guys never existed, you would all be listening to a lot of Moby, Kruder and Dorfmeister, and DJ Rap

lol I was just joking, but yea those guys were important too.
I think you have to trace the generation dots back a bit to get from Autechre to Kraftwerk. You might be able to sell me on that if all I ever heard was Incunabula. Coil I would site as an immediate and direct reference.
Stuff like Stockhausen and John Cage certainly influenced Aphex. Any of the piano stuff on Drukqs, really. Of course Eno and Saw II, as we were just reading about in that ae interview.
I think you are just embarrased by how much you really love DJ Rap.

ivan pavlov is COH (releases on mego, raster-noton etc). he's done some really good stuff. i really wouldn't have thoght they'd work together -- but, thinking about it, it could be something very awesome.
