The other day at school I was downloading tons of ogg files
from various net labels.

Yesterday I went in and to my dismay, I was banned from the
internet.

So I downloaded this, to spoofed my mac address. Very cool stuff
:D

spoofing your MAC only works up until your local
gateway/router, mate.

your MAC is part of the layer 2 frame (ethernet or atm cell,
etc) and is stripped once it ingresses into the router
interface.

any ethernet NIC driver should allow you to change the MAC
as well.

check the device/driver properties.

*most* allow you to change the address.

and it's technically not spoofing.

most routers will also let you set the mac on their uplink
port.
