can be new stuff, old stuff.
just shout out some electronic albums or artists that you
love but don't see enough appreciation around here. maybe
being this broad this isn't a good start, but i'll see how
it goes.
basically, i wanna here some new music :)
go go go!

*google's YOU GOT MY ATTENTION*
...
this barely helps at all!

bill evans - trio 65
elliott smith - either/or, figure 8 [the reason i pick these
two is that i'd disregarded them but, on second listen,
they're not so ... disregardable]

emilie simon - vegetal
casiotone for the painfully alone - etiquette

ooh, i love elliott smith! i have all his albums, tho i
can't listen to figure 8. the rich production is just.. not
the reason i like his music.
i'll recommend some stuff soon, and check out the other
stuff you mentioned.

Plat - Compulsion. i've mentioned this before, but
i'm still surprised at how little people seem to care about
this. very chilled, nice textured album. just, really really
nice to listen to.
Crunch - 1 (alias of tipper) is growing on me.
definitely music worth checking out.
Discuss - Discuss. another really well produced
album. rich colourful upbeat music. really nice to listen
and get into.
there's also a new EP by this guy. darker sound, but same
awesome production.
Kettel is another really nice artist. released
Whisper Me Wishes last year, which is really nice electronic
music, with hints of acid and classical music.
Mouse on Mars - Varcharz unlike the other stuff i've
mentioned, this stuff just.. cooler? the first track is pure
awesomeness that just hits you, and the rest of the album if
full of glitch and.. dance-y moments.. and ah.. rock
influences. really awesome.
Ochre - Lemodie this album is too nice. All songs are
really beautiful and melodic. His stuff is real good too.
I guess everyones heard Team Doyobi, but I just felt
like mentioning because I barely see their name around here
anymore, and they are brilliant.
Yasume - Where We're From The Birds Sing A Pretty
Song
another really REALLY nice electronic album. Just
an awesome atmospheric beautiful vibe to the all 8 tracks.

since you recommended non-electronic stuff,... um..
Iron & Wine is a pretty awesome solo artist. only
heard The Shepard's Dog and a few other random stuff, though
i really like him.
The Books are a pretty awesome group who combine folk
with electronic music. haven't heard enough to recommend a
specific album, though The Lemon of Pink does it for me.
Robert Wyatt - Comicopera. this guy seems to have a
long history, which i have none of! but i've heard his
latest album from last year and it's BEAUTIFUL!
*if anyone can recommend some other stuff from this guy..
appreciated!*

waffles.fm had an idm music recommendation thread, though
90% of what i heard was just really dull music with sine w/
lots of release over glitchy beats. that said, Loess is
pretty nice :)

also search 'seven ark' at bleep.com. Kinda similar to
crunch/funkstorung (crunch 1 is one of my fav+ albumises).
I'm such a shit faced fuck though that I havn't even gotten
this or listened to any other idm in a long time, partly
because I had mites in the headpones of my cd player.

in wake of the banjo player's recent passing, i'd like to
recommend the Monks - Black Monk Time from 1966. their story
is great, their music is great, and people should listen to
them.

Is Substrata by Biosphere any good?
I always hear of this "masterpiece", I only have Patashnik
by him and don't think it's very good.
Is Substrata different?

This Heat - Deceit

the song "a new kind of water" from that album came on in
lastfm radio and i couldn't believe this was from 1981.
avantgarde-punk awesomeness! not really electronic, though a
lot of tape manipulation experiments... strangely depressing
mood... really a gem. ü02tuäüp°

some little albums i cant avoid to adore:

hrvatski - swarm & dither
christmas baubles (EU)
batfinks - towards the pipe (?)

and recently i adquired that mobeer remixes 3"
which is really cute and great music,
but limited to 200 so maybe difficult to get...
