Hey, I just went back and listened to Far Away Trains Passing By again... I found it works really well in a relaxed state, quite lush and meditative. Makes me want to spread the word.
For those of you who don't know, he sounds a bit like Boards of Canada with a hint of Tangerine Dream. Almost ambient, but not quite. Even his minimalist beat programming is pretty neat although simple, but I guess that's the point...
What are some of your favourite releases?

Totally love his stuff. It works very well when you're relaxed, and those who smoke weed here and there: it works even better. Almost like it intensifies the high.

I don't know what poor mastering is, but I think "A Strangely Isolated Place" might have it. It's a little too loud, at least compared to other albums, and sometimes I think I hear what other people might call "clipping". 'Can't really complain though. Great production, effortless-sounding hooky melodies, and impeccable hair: these things I expect from this person. First two albums are like velvety candy, almost exactly!

cool, I didn't know about Ethereal 77, sounds interesting...
I think most people either like his music or find it 'boring', but I think it all depends on a state of mind. I didn't really like his music first, but at 3 AM in the morning it sounded glorious.

The last album was poor compared to the first two. Production is horrible. I read somewhere that he recorded the whole album with his headphones on, and that's exactly what it sounds like.
