You would be looking for something for around 300 euros. For that you would get a decent hard tail (no rear suspension). If you are planning on proper hard moutain biking you will probably need to spend two or three times that amount to get something decent. |

buy used. that way you don't feel bad about scratching it up since it will probably come with a few already. plus you save a ton of money. could get a real nice hardtail with top of the line parts for under $1000. |

did i ever tell you guys how much i love cycling. i watched an hour of tour de france movies last night. had a bad crash a few years ago, writing off both myself my bike, but its so good to be back. |

riding is the only exercise I have ever enjoyed and actually kept up. I miss it so much. Id live in holland just for the biking. |

i just meant get a light bike and avoid halfords and alike cause if you buy the parts yourself and build one , you can have a lighter bike for your money. it took a few days of research ..but now id never buy a pre built bike again. its fun too to build yourself. |

listen to ecnadniarb, he speaks the truth. £300 will get you something half decent so long as you avoid rear suspension. this thread makes me sad cos i never ride my bike anymore since i learned to drive. i have a marin full susser just sitting in the garage that cost me over a grand. the ppl i used to ride with moved to france to bike full time so i have no bike buddies anymore either......*sniff*.... |
