no, I can't ever see software sound as punchy as a real 101.
No way

i tried to play some of software vsts by the old analogue eq
with tape recorder and it gives quite good resaults.

I know of two great 101 vst things that are faithful and add
a new dimension to the sequencer. I'm not going to point you
in the right direction though.

i could use a wooden flute and a vocoder in stead... :)

if you think about it though, the actual sound quality of
the waveform that the sh 101 gives, you can replicate that.
you cna actually develop your own synth, you should look
into that

thats why i dont buy hardwear instruments.
anythink can be a source for your sound.
once i`ve acually sampled some flute parts, put them via
vocoder and on some tape, and sampled it.
resault were outstanding, gusbumps and shit.
Idea of developing new is quite good, especially with tools
like ni reactor.

Vaz modular is quite good for a wide spectrum of 101-like
sounds. I found muon tau pro is a more accurate emulator of
some of the bass and a few of the acidy sounds than vaz,
although cannot emulate as large a field of sounds.

As an aside: Before someone points out that the muon was
originally a sort of 303 emulator and hence sounds nothing,
in their opinion, like a 101. There have been additions to
the software gave it a far wider sound palette than a 303, I
would like to explain that I do actually have a 101 and know
what they sound like.
