Ever since Bongo Joe died, Led Zeppelin hasn't been the
same. Part man, part monster, I didn't think they'd ever
play again without him. I remember when I saw them at the
LA Forum, this was back in '76. Bongo Joe played an insane
drum solo that lasted over forty minutes! Since I've Been
Loving You, I think it was. There were three holes cut into
the stage, so when he started, the rest of the band was
lowered down into a secret party dungeon below. Then on
Bongo Joe's final pounding, thousands of fun size Skittles
bags flew out of his drum kit and into the crowd. Best live
show ever.

How about that new Robert Plant album? I haven't heard it,
but it's supposed to be alright.

Not as good as the Yardbirds. I remember I saw them at a
little cafe in Cheshire. Place called anna bells hot shop.
This was just after Relf joined the line up in '63. What a
show. Blew my mind. This night Clapton played his famous
tears in heaven, but the words were different and it was
double time back then. I guess he rewrote it. Amazing night,
great coffee.
