Fawn Down, It's Dawn (Make Fen Frown)

It's got a little build up and then it hatches like an egg.
2 minutes.

It's like some theme from a dramatic scene in Miami Vice.
The black guy just got some bad news and he's walking in the
rain at night. Neon lights illuminate the raindrops as they
fall, momentarily releasing its grip on them right before
they hit the ground, upon which they explode into a neon
fireworks show.

Great stuff--what software (or even.. hardware) did you use?

Thanks marlowe. It's all ableton live 6 with loads of
effects. And a few homemade squishy and vocal samples.

I should really try to get into Ableton. I have it
somewhere, but whenever I've opened it, I've never been able
to figure it out.

It has a great tutorial function, I don't think it would
take you long to pick up. I've only been using it 10 months
or so (fruityloops 3 before that for 5 years).

im in the same boat, used fl for a few years but recently
worked towards switching to ableton.

using version 7 now which is awesome.

just work on making a song like you usually do, then you
will find the functions you use in other apps cause you will
need them sequentially during the process..

very nice, glad I dropped in to catch it, kind of has a
black dog feel, though it could just be because I've just
finished listening to the silence album

Worked now and overall quite nice. The background was
great/organic. Maybe the foreground drums could follow that
theme instead of being exact clones (by that I mean
appetiteForDisktructionEsque pitchshifting & other
entertaining mutations. And the melody is good but could use
more polyphonic accompanying lines. And really putting
polyphonic and accompanying right next to eachother in a
sentence is redundant, but I'd rather write this follow up
sentence than mess with deleting it.
