It's that time of year once again when ma asks me what I
want for Christmas and I scramble to write out a few albums
I'd like from warpmart. I'm a big electronic music fan,
obviously, but I've really only scratched the surface. I
have pretty much all Aphex Twin, u-ziq, squarepusher,
autechre, BOC, Plaid, some DMX Krew - basically the heavy
hitters. I'm definitely getting The Tuss, but I need a few
others.

Unfortunately I don't have a record player, so that limits
me a bit. I have yet to hear Ovuca, Ceephax, Astrobotnia,
Gescom, Black Dog, stuff like that.. So what do you guys
think? Thanks in advance.

i can reccomend 3 random but great electro albums

Arovane -atol scrap (very intelligent, like autechre but
more ambient, not easy to get hold of this album however)

funkstorung-appetite for destruction (sort of hiphop style
with original electro sound, good stuff

bola-Kroungrine (nice melodic electro, i like listening to
this to relax, it sets a nice chilled atmosphere)

listen to previews of new/recent music from juno or boomkat
etc
or download em off soulseek

and then buy as many records or CD's of the ones you like
best and will play again, in their full quality. the new
young budding artists are always the ones that get my money
first; Elton John can wait!

diamond, he needs the basics! he has obvious holes in his
taste that needs to be filled. don't let him search through
all the crap on juno or boomkat. be a friend, help the guy
out with some essentials.

i do agree, the next step is listening to samples.

I appreciate all the good help, fellas. Now if only I wasn't
on a 56k connection (family still lives in the early 90s) I
could sample some of them...
