That would suck. Having it in mp3 would make a little
better though...

funk. don't get too excited, SAW is highly overrated and has
some very poor sound quality.
feel free to critisise me....

cha, first i'd like to say i found SAW v.1 when i was
working for circuit city. i didn't have any $ at the time
so it sat there all by it's lonesome for a month or 2 and i
tricked my dad into buying it for me! (it was an import).
Phresch: maybe you want drill-n-bass up the ass but i like
it becuase i can just chill and relax and veg with it.

i take drill'n'bass up the ass...how did you
know...Heliosphan is great, Ageispolis, i, Green Calx and
WATMM are also good tracks, but no way near the superb
ICBYD.

well, I really like the drill and bass, but the melodic
stuff is what really floats my boat... I think I'm totally
gonna love SAW1... but we'll see tomorrow... plus, it's just
nice to have in the collection you know... I CAN'T WAIT!!!!!
:)

Lucky bastard. Have you heard all of it already, via MP3, or
is some of it new to you?

offline The_Funkmaster from St. John's (Canada) on 2002-03-23 17:08 [#00137728]

I've heard like 4 songs... so it's basically new...

its an ok album, imo, rather old fashioned :)

the very last track seems to me to have a slightly off beat.

offline The_Funkmaster from St. John's (Canada) on 2002-03-23 17:12 [#00137731]
Points: 16280 Status: Lurker

well see, the four songs that I've heard are some of his
best songs ever in my opinion, so that's why I'm so
excited... This was the Aphex Twin album I wanted first, I
remember about a year ago going to the store looking to buy
this one, not knowing how hard it was to get here... so now
I finally have it... it's nice to have in the collection...

offline Netlon Sentinel from eDe (Netherlands, The) on 2002-03-23 17:14 [#00137733]

yeah it's definately a must-have.

funny, the shops in europe are swarming with saw1... i
bought it for 10.99 pounds at hmv when i was in london last
year.

late Christmas present!!! :)

I like Xtal and Tha. The rest of that album is pretty boring
compared to SAW II, imo.

I played it on the way home, and I think my dad liked it...
he wouldn't admit it, but I could tell... he said it sounded
nice...

the sounds used in Xtal are very similar to the sounds used
in the new globalgoon album, well, IMO. that like ambient
electro bass sound.really deep. hard to explain

yeah...well i guess most of the sounds used by aphex and
other similar artists in the early 90's are similar to those
used on vatican nitez..which is why its so nice

actually...the voice on xtal sounds very similar to the one
on brian eno's 'shadow'

nah, but it is here in Newfoundland... plus, my copy is an
import, as I ordered it before it was rereleased, so that's
why it took so long to get in...

yes yes, I know, it's old... but it's still a great album...

actually the voice on Xtal reminds me of the voice on Mt
Saint Michels from Drukqs...

I agree with you..it's my least favourite even though its
got some very cool stuff..Green Calx is my fave...but as an
album..I rate it as easy listening and not particularly
engaging
