Just a quick ask really--I'm in LA(till next sun) and was
wondering if anyone knew of any good gigs here this week?

Particularly UR or Detroit stuff or even any good bands
playing--

also, is there a local listings guide which anyone
recommends I check out?

thanks

If you are around Wednesday, there is always the low end
theory, which usually has edit, daedelus, thavius beck,
nobody, or someone of the leftfield hiphop realm. The shows
are always great. I know of different venues, but due to
school Im not well informed of artist playing in the area.
Make sure you check out Amoeba on sunset and vine...it's
like a bestbuy filled with hard to find CD's Records, and
other music stuff...one of the best music stores

oh yeah ive gotta second checking out amoeba - its the only
place if bought any music at in like the last three years.
tons of rare releases youd never find in another record
store and lots of them used for good prices as well.

the branch in berkeley is absolutely godly.

there is no help in LA, only desperation......just kidding.

SoCal IDM used to be the place to look for shows but
he's shut it down now.

i'm at Amoeba like twice a month. its on Sunset and Cahuenga
Blvd. though just down the block from Vine. right across the
street from CNN...and Jack in the Box. but forget Jack in
the Box. go find a Fatburger, w00t!

and then if you're into comics, go check out Golden Apple in
Melrose near La Brea. Comic shop to the stars. this is where
Samuel L. picks his shit up.

avoid Pink's world famous hot dogs. terrible shit that is,
and long lines to boot...even at 2:00 AM.
