Reggae covers are lush. I just got a 2CD set of reggae
covers of Beatles tracks called Mellow Dubmarine. MELLOW
DUBMARINE. Also the Radiodread and Dub Side Of The Moon
albums are great. Also there is a wickedawesome version of
Fever on that Johnny Greenwood Is The Controller comp. Talk
about reagge cover versions please.

Dub Side Of The Moon is embarrassingly awful i.m.o.

i dont like dub side of the moon at all. probably because
the original is such a classic that i think nobody should
mess with it. The idea of Beatles covers doesn't sound very
good to me at all.

but then, i'm no reggae fan to begin with.

Dub Side of the Moon is great. Their version of "Brain
Damage" is one of my favourite covers of all time.

I keep getting images of stoned Jamaicans sitting in their
smoked-filled recording shacks, going through Allmusic.com
in search of suitable albums to pun off.

Yes, it's like the sun newspaper's approach to reporting;
never mind if it's any good or not, it's if we can pun that
is important.

Never Mind The Dub, Here's The Dub Pistols

I know a lot of them are really bad but also they are really
fun to listen to which makes them good. Radiodread has some
really genuinely good tracks on it but also some tripe. A
few of the Beatles ones are ghastly but also good in a way.

I really just need more upbeat fun music for where I'm
working at the mo, nothing quite comes close to Let Down,...
when he says 'hysterical and useless' it makes my day

Marlowe: Yes.

Vlari: He probably thought it was a Good Idea. Which of
course it wasn't. Not even then, and certainly not now.

Pre-reggae is also good for cover versions, especially
Beatles. I dare you to find a more joyful song than The
Skatalites version of "Should Have Known Better". Yeah,
you're probably right, that song is good too!
