To our Xltronic community of contributors, subscribers, partners, and visitors which includes, but is not limited to, Black, Latinx, Indigenous, Middle Eastern, Asian, trans, non-binary, and queer people, undocumented and other immigrants, people with disabilities, and those struggling financially: I apologize for my comments in the face of economic and social crisis, and I amid the call to dismantle institutional racism.
I'm sorry that I called Marlowe a woke communist retard.

To embrace conflict and heal from harm, we need to envision and rebuild our communities on the building blocks of accountability. To begin taking accountability, we start with an apology. Since an apology is made by the one who caused the harm, it can carry resentment, shame, and defensiveness and that can often make an apology ineffective and sometimes result in a continuation of harm. But apologies serve a purpose, and that is to acknowledge that harm was done. To make genuine apologies, one needs to recognise the harm without being shamed into it. When shame is used to force an apology, it will be self-serving. That apology then has one purpose: to rid the one who caused harm from the self-resentment that comes with shame. Apologies should be encouraged and normalised because it is an expression of wanting to do better, to be better, and to love better.

Foremost, to all the women who were present in the audience for the talk I would like to publicly and unreservedly apologise for the subject, content and delivery of the talk.
In particular, that I added the image DESPITE knowing it would be shocking to you was utterly stupid on my part. I completely misread how badly it would be taken.
I SHOULD have recognised immediately that the talk would have had a stronger impact, and created feelings of being singled out from your peers solely due to gender, or feelings of being unwelcome in the room. And in one case I'm aware of, of creating a fear about being in the room itself for a minute or so.
With two younger sisters of my own, I cannot express how guilty I feel that I might be responsible for creating anything like that "walking alone at night" feeling for you, especially in a conference environment where there are already so few women, and in which you should be welcomed with open arms.
Secondly, I would like to publically apologise to the organising committee, and to the sponsors.
You already have far too much to do organising a conference of this size and you have all contributed so much to make it happen and to make it a success.

I am a Caucasian cisgender female and first-generation college student from Appalachia who is of Scottish, British and Norwegian heritage.
I am married to a cisgender male, and we are middle class. While I did not ‘ask’ for the many privileges in my life: I have benefitted from them and will continue to benefit from them whether I like it or not. This is injustice.

I don't often say it - I'm sorry for being a man, because family and sexual violence is overwhelmingly perpetrated by men.

Take a back seat, tony. Do you understand what "having titties" means?
Call me dense, but at 12 and 13 it never occurred to me to ask a girl my age what it was like to be the focus of desire. It never occurred to me to talk about the insane desire I felt, how respect and empathy were so far away when driven mad by a lust I didn’t understand—and hadn’t asked for either, by the way.
Eventually Michelle turned our conversation to “the male gaze.” I’d been hearing the term a lot while researching my forthcoming book on pornography, and Michelle had been receiving it almost her whole life. She reminded me that even in a perfectly safe situation, the full attention of a male almost twice her size could be intimidating. She suggested that most men don’t know the impact their own gaze has on most women.

I apologize for using gendered language in my last post.
Having been misgendered myself, I offer the following advice:
When someone misgenders me it almost always turns into a five minute conversation where I’m almost expected to comfort or forgive someone who has misgendered me. People want to apologize and I appreciate it, but I’m honestly not looking for an apology. I just want them to stop doing it. Someone turning it into something beyond an “I’m sorry,” or “It won’t happen again,” or a correction of their mistake makes me feel very anxious. I’ve changed my responses to these Cis-Apology-Waltz’s as I call them. I used to force a smile and laugh and say “It’s okay, haha,” but I’ve stopped doing that because it’s a lie and because it’s actually not okay. If I am not firm with the people who fuck up they will not change; and I’ve learned this the hard way.

EXECUTIVE: Dear sponsors, collegues, and valued consumers of Wolfslice,
It is with deepest regrets that we apologize for the behavior of Wolfslice on behalf of the Executive Leadership Team, as well as our Community Relationships department (and the many other teams who worked to keep Wolfslice a welcoming space). We are deeply sorry for Wolfslice's recent off-color remarks and want to reiterate that we do not condone these actions.
We have been studying this past month, and are taking action accordingly:
\begin{itemize} \item Wolfslice is hiring new interns in the Community Relationships department with a focus on creating more welcoming spaces for all identities!
\item We will be adding more gender neutral bathrooms.
\item We have reached out to the trans community to provide resources and support.
\end{itemize}
Thank you again for your patience in working through this difficult time, and we hope to see you at our next Wolfslice event!!
The Executive Leadership Team & Community Relationships Department of Xltronic, Inc.

EXECUTIVE:
\begin{itemize} \item Wolfslice is an open-source community, not a traditional company with a centralized hierarchy to be controlled by a single person. As such, Wolfslice cannot control what Wolfslice members say or do online.
\item Wolfslice values the contributions of all its members and takes no issue with the many different perspectives that exist in our community. Wolfslice is an open-source community where all are welcome to participate and contribute regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, ability, religion, or country of origin.
\item As part of Wolfslice's commitment to these values we have taken the following action: \strong{The Executive Leadership Team & Community Relationships Department of Xltronic, Inc.} are launching a new diversity and inclusion initiative with the goal of building an inclusive community that welcomes every member.
\item Wolfslice was not alone in its reaction to The Wolfslice Mess; we were simply part of the broader online conversation around it -- and Wolfslice has participated in all the major discussions surrounding The Wolfslice Mess. In short, everyone is being outspoken about it.
\item As mentioned above, Wolfslice's members are not bound by any one leader. Wolfslice values diversity of ideas and perspectives, and this will remain a core part of our community culture as well as what defines us.
\item Xltronic, Inc. has no plans to censor its employees or staff from participating on public social media accounts. As previously mentioned, Wolfslice is not an organization that can control individual members' online presence -- the only thing we can do is to keep them informed of this expectation and support them in upholding it when they are outspoken.
