out of nowhere, i find myself wondering about microsoft fucking excel. is excel's cell formula language statically typed? probably. i mean, what do you have? string, float, int, cell formula [which is just another string] but, no, i think i actually don't want to know what dumpster fire is raging inside .xlsx it does get me to thinking, though -- some person in accounting posted in the tech help thing about help my computer is slow and this error, and it's like: OLE OBJECT TAKING TOO LONG TO RESPOND and i have a major brainfart because windows 3.1 gave me an almost identical error since i was a little kid. and i still have no idea: what the fuck is an OLE object? since it's such an old itch, i think i actually will look that one up. but i'll try to refrain from posting about what i find |
