ok, ive got a problem with that too

tolerance is not enough

equality is important

some say they are tolerant, when in fact they do not respect
the differences

Buddhism is not actually a rreligion in the strrictess
sence. The Buddah was man not a god. His teachings arre
based on then worrld he lived in.

The bible does say some interesting things. Only 10% of the
bible is worth reading though. Basically what it boils down
to in the end: Do unto others as you would have them do unto
you.
Simplify this statement even more: Karma.

hasidic judaism teaches tolerance for other religions too,
but that doesn't mean a whole lot. i can't speak for all
hasids, i'm sure some are a little more open-minded, but
beneath their tolerance, they pray for your poor soul. a
bit consescending.

Religion is a tricky subject to talk about and be non
biased...

But I will try my best here (being a person of no faith)

Relegion is a great thing in many ways, its social, you meet
new people, you see a different view of the world. For a
person trying to find his or her own truth I think it is
nessesary to look at religion and see if it suits you. IMO I
think relegion is great for people looking for hope in
humanity.

I would like to think of myself as a humanist, trying to
live day to day and be a gunuine good person. Treating other
people how I would like to be treated and helping out people
whenever I can

I believe that life is about finding your own truth/s, and
if relegion is going to help you on that path, then use it

But dont go into a religion because you are being pressured
into it, or because of its image, do it because YOU want to,
choose the one YOU want it.

Christianity, Catholics, Muslim.... and the millions of
others.. even if people say there is coruption and hypocricy
(which IMO there is), dont let it get in your way, because
relegion is a personal thing, and it doesnt always have to
be about the church

If I were ever to choose a relegion I think I would either
become Buddhist or Catholic... but I will never be a
religious person, so I dont have to worry about it

premade religions are not the way. they dont bring
structure, they just put you in a certain position.

religion is great for people who are passionate about it...
the people who aren't, those who are in it to fit into a
certain group, or whatever, are the ones who give it a bad
name... I've know some super AWESOME Christians in my time,
and also some idiot, hypocritical Christians... but just
because some Christians are hypocritical, I wouldn't label
the whole religion as crap... Hey man, only you can
determine whether or not it's right for you... please don't
listen to all the people telling you Christianity is a joke,
because it's not... but whether or not it's for you, is for
you to find out... One thing is for sure, it does bring a
sense of peace, and a sense of purpose... I know that from
experience...

i am not going to become rreligious for a few rreasons, the
first -

the bible was wrrote so long ago in the days when science
could not prrove it wrrong. how do you account forr
dinosaurrs. (basically knocks any crredibility the bible had
out of the waterr)
Buddhist's can't drrink alcohol, and sadly, thats my only
escape, so that would never worrk.

it still leave's with a prroblem. i need to change something
in my life, because its a mess, and if rreligion won't do
it, what will??

Everyone always feels the need to change something about
their lives. Its all part of that endless search for your
truth. For me truth is trying to figuere out questions
like:

who am I?

what is love?

what is hate?

why do humans hate?

why am I here (what is my purpose)?

what happends after your body dies?

.... that is what I think everybody is trying to answer in
some way or another with religion or just by themselves.

I know one thing though, energy its self can not vanish into
thin air (it changes and transforms its self into another
form of energy).... so we have to go somewhere... or
something has to happen after we die. I find it hard to
believe that after its all said and done we just
dissapear... and vanish

Or at least I would like to think of it this way

Anus, listen up! CAREFULLY LISTEN::

You dont have to PICK a religion, make up your own. If you
want to be a Buddist who drinks once in a while, I say do
it. Dont regret it, have fun while you're here on earth
because its a short trip.
