excellent so far, its one of those old classics that you
think will be hard to get into but when you actually sit
down and read it, its the complete opposite :)

Infernal Affairs - ***

pretty good, second time i've watched it and doesn't really
stand up to repeated viewings much. NOT looking forward to
the Hollywood remake (yes, another) with DiCaprio.

I actually found Infernal Affairs a bit tedious in places
and certainly consider it one of the more overrated Asian
imports.

i think requiem for a dream is way overrated too though. it
was cool when i was sixteen, but watching it now is not
something i'd enjoy. the funniest part: i used to think
the soundtrack was sooo fucking cool. now i think it's
melodramatic.

this is because of course, i am in the post angst phase of
my life and that's how post angsty people act.

I don't mind subtitles at all in a lot of films, but there
were parts of this movie that were very fast and I couldn't
keep up with both the dialogue and the visuals at times.

i remember watching it (with english subtitles) but i don't
remember having troubles following it..perhaps who ever made
your subtitles complicated or something :)

mind..real fun :D

Old Boy - 4/5

Just saw this little number by Korean director Chan-wook
Park. It's like a revenge picture / mind fuck psycho
thriller about a guy who is mysteriously imprisoned for 15
years and then released. Once set free, he begins his
mission for vengence, not only to find the man who
imprisoned him, but more importantly, to find out why.
Ultimately, his journey leads to a twist ending that is
truely twisted. I mean seriously. A little far-fetched
maybe. But, seriously. one of those OMG YUCK / WTF OMG!
kind of endings. It was praised highly by Q. Tarantino at
the Cannes in 2004, and I am praising it highly now!
