There was a TV movie in 1954 (with Peter Cushing as Winston)
and a cinema version in 1956.

Hmm, looking these up on IMDb it seems the TV movie version
has a rating of 8.1, compared to 6.8 for the John Hurt
version. Might be interesting to see.

a very long engagement - 3/5

my rating of this film could go up upon multiple viewings.
i found the beginning of the film to be drawn out and
confusing, and the ending a bit anti-climactic. but it was
filmed beautifully and it had some very clever visual
elements.

pretty good!

I was quite surprised at the lowish rating that got. I
thought it would have least been in the mid-7s.

The Village- 7/10 *all very good but the way the ending
scenes were done could have used a little work...felt a
little weak w/ the blatant M. Night Shamalon guest
appearance.

Hide and Seek- 3/10 *tried to be The Shining.

Life Aquatic - 3/5

very interesting art direction. i pretty much loved the way
the film looked. great cast. pretty good acting, it'dve
probably been great except i don't like willem defoe at all,
and his part was cliched and pretty uninteresting.

probly my least favorite anderson film. although i have to
see it again because his films are usually growers.

book. and plus it's disney.. which sucks in of itself.
