ceri - yep, but you'd need a big ass scope... the British
army SA-80 has got a killing range of 3 mile (apparently)...

Him! Brutal killing sprees with sniper rifles will get you
banned, read the FAQ.

a real sniper, military trained will not be caught.

especially if this person is not a maniac.

there is no reason to think this person is a psycho... just
lacking morality. you can be intelligent and evil without
being insane.

I'm not sure of that, but I do know by most reports he's
only shooting from about 100 or 150 yards. The thing I don't
understand is if they can use ballistics to determine the
type of gun from the bullet, why don't they know (or just
won't say?) what kind of gun it is? Seems a little odd to
me

Supposedly, and I don't know how true this is, but they
think some French sniper was here in the states on leave but
nobody has heard from him since he arrived.

Thought so, I ran into a mate who is a BA commando and he
pointed out a hotel room (about 1200M away) and said he
reckoned he could get someone in the window there...

Zguru: Yes, he probably isn't really insane or he'd of been
caught by now...

Why are we all assuming it's a he? Women make very good
marksmen...
I know at a claypidgeon shoot I went to the women were much
better.

Generally speaking though, how many mass murderers have you
ever heard of that were female? It tends to be males more
often than not, and if a woman is involved, it's usually
with her husband/boyfriend.

They must know what gun it is... at least the calibre of
it... but they wont say cos it would give us all something
else to speculate about, and there not ready to do that
yet... build the hype!

It's the same gun (specific gun-not just mdel...) being used
so it's unlikely to be more than one person.

Elastic: Re type of gun.. it'd make it easier for copy cats
to cock up the enquiry if they new the specific model...

yeah. it would be just as hillarious to watch every family
member of yours, everyone you've ever cared for and loved,
being crushed under the weight of a train, grinding their
flesh and bones for the mile and a half it takes a train to
stop once the brakes are applied.

he keeps acting as if human tradgedy is so very funny just
because it's not happening to him. maybe it wouldn't be as
funny if he had to experience a little pain first-hand?

Snap (I concur).

I blame it on that "Silent Scope" arcade game... I knew
something like this would happen.

Here's my theory:

Seeing as he's in Washington, I think he's taking test shots
to get ready for shooting Bush.
He doesn't only shoot people of the same ethnic group, age
group, street, family, job, does he?
I think he's trying lots of different
angles/positions/distances.

It's sad, yes, but a possibility. As much as I hate Bush
that would TOTALLY fuck things up in the world.

I know... I played GTA3 the other day and then went out and
mugged 17 people with a baseball bat, and nicked 5 cars...
the power of computer games eh!

I do remember the first time I played Carmageddon (a racing
game where there is no objective, you just run down people
and blow up shit) I could still see the game when I closed
my eyes for like a day after...

Taking out Bush would only fuck the world up if they blamed
it on Saddam or something... if its a lone psycho it will
just be the end of Bush

I see the death of Bush being a good thing, as long as they
get the vice president too. We need someone in office who
has an IQ that can't be counted on his hands!

I don't buy that..

shooting people in open terrains will train him to shoot a
heavily guarded GW Bush..?

you're an idiot. the death of a president is not a "good
thing". it would permanently fuck the US up, and as i live
there, i wouldn't want that. i'm a democrat and don't
particularly like bush, but statements like that are
inexcusable.
