lucky... i think you have a good point

so far there seems to be no motive or gain from the
shootings

It seems possible/more likely... doesn't it?

even if it is military, government... the media will never
use it that way.

i truly believe that no matter who this is, it will end up
being pinned on whatever issue the government and media
decide to use it for.

"Maybe they're just a complete cunt who likes to fuck up
other people lives. " - but, as I said, that would point to
a serial killer type person, and they usually have other
issues than just fucking up peoples lives.

you know, it doesn't have to be specifically a US army
person. christ you people have some serious issues with
self-righteousness. this guy could be from anywhere in the
world! what, you think we've cornered the market on mass
murder? really, well where was Hitler from again? gosh, I
forget. was it America?

We all have our own theories and maybe one of us is right.
Maybe we'll never know why they've done it. They'll probably
get gunned down anyway so no-one'll know and for ages
speculation will be all it is.

I think they were trying to say it's most likely an
American. Also with the type of shooting points to Army
training.

I know somebody that was just 45 seconds from the Ponderosa
where that guy got shot the other day.

If hes military hes more likely to be US or Canadian
military, just because it would be shitloads harder for a
foreigner to a. get into the country and buy a sniper rifle
b. stay hidden for so long

Yes, I thought it was most likely that it was US army simply
because it happened in the US- if they had some real or
percieved reason to hate the army/the state the are unlikely
to fly to switzerland or Lithuania to take revenge.

We get ex-army psychos here too, but the difficulty
associated with getting powerful firearms outside of places
like Manchester & Bristol limits the number that can
actually go on a proper rampage...

course you can get black market guns anywhere, but its
easier and safer to get legal ones in the US - isn't it?

Not neccessarily. If it were true Military training, this
guy could be taking people out from 400 yards away. This
sniper is reportedly only shooting from roughly 100 yards or
less. He probably just purchased some kind of handbook on
sniper shooting and nothing more. If it was a Marine, the
guy would be 50 miles away from the scene by the time the
body hit the ground.

You've made a good point there Ceri which I should
have emphasised in my post. Not saying that it's only
American army personnel that go mad. We really do have our
own fair amount of corruption and fucked up Army peeps.

I thought generally black market guns were used for
murder/robbery etc. in the usa- you don't want a gun to be
linked to you if you have to leave it behind etc.

Ophecks: Yes, I reckon if they raid his house, it'll be
rigged like that ex-army guys flat in "things to do in
denver when you're dead", bombs everywhere and him armed to
the hilt in a corner...

Elastic - you sound like you have alot of faith in the
abilities of your armed forces... from what I have seen/read
they've fucked up a hell of alot... and some would even say
they are incompetant

yes ward
and it doesnt make sense
cos he always put the death card
that's not really a card for punishment or violence...it
means "changes in ur life"...
pretty stupid

No, my father fought in Vietnam. I just know what a real
Marine is capable of, and this sniper clearly is not, thus
somewhat disproving the "it MUST be an American soldier!
they're all evil! HORRIBLE, I tell you, HORRIBLE!" theory.

I've just found out new knowledge here. I was under the
impression he was doing it from far away. I think I could
snipe at 100 yards. I wonder if it's that Mickey Mouse bloke
who recently left this board. He said he had to go
"re-evaluate his life". :)

hey, i live near a town where the local video rental store
also sells guns... believe me, if you want a gun, you can
get one. in the house where i grew up, we had 14 guns
around the fireplace and more throughout the house.

our driveway was about 1/10 mile long, and whenever a car
would slow down, my step-dad would be looking at them
through a scope on a korean war issued rifle. i've seen
friends shoot dogs easily 200 yards away. no big deal.

well there's only 1 death card in every pack, so i guess
they should ask all shopkeepers if anyone has bought 13
packs of tarot cards at once recently

god, i'm a genius

That's exactly my point, anybody could do it from 100 yards
or less. Any Marine who goes through basic boot camp
training will learn to shoot from distances of up to 400
yards or further.

shotting acurately from distance is not hard given the right
gun and scope. Its pretty much point and click/bang. Do we
know what gun/s are being used?
