Stop putting a goddamn dollar on everything you can!! I'm
sick of fucking governments and big businesses trying to
vanquish anything they cant make a penny from. Stupid war on
drugs. I'm also sick of America trying to blow the shit
outta any group that doesn't agree with US morals. War will
not bring peace, only more war. Fucking war on terrorism.

"Oh my God, this War On Terrorism is gonna rule! I can't
wait until the war is over and there's no more terrorism!"

"I know! Remember when the U.S. had a drug problem,
and then we declared a War On Drugs, and now you can't buy
drugs anymore?
It'lll be just like that!"

"Right! God, if only that War On Drugs hadn't been so
effective! I could really use some fucking marijuana right
now!"

- get your war on

everyone should just get together in a big room, put some
pillows and blankets on the floor
turn off the lights, except for a lava lamp in the middle of
the room
light up
then talk things over like regular people
yeah man

I agree with magiker. The problem isn't limited to
americans, or western ideals. The problem is humanity. The
sooner we kill ourselves off the sooner the earth can
return to some sort of equilibrium.

Maybe mother earth will get lucky and the raeliens will
accidentally create some sort of mutant disease that'll wipe
us all out quickly and not fux0r up the other species too
much.

What the fuck is going on here?!
"The
sooner we kill ourselves off the sooner the earth can
return to some sort of equilibrium."

What sort of bullshit is that?! We need to start accepting
that we are an integral part of this planet, and of nature,
but that both can, and WILL survive with or without us.

Once we realise this and people learn to use our planets
(solar system/universe) resources more responsibly (as is
already happening) then we will survive, and evolve and
adapt, and change with our ever changing environment.

Wishing that we were all dead so that the planet can
continue in some sort of perpetual bliss is ludicrous! If we
suddenly dissappeared from the face of the earth, inevitably
another speices would evolve to a level where it can worry
about the harm it may or may not be causing to the planet.

We should shoulder our responsibilities, and get on with
living as a part of 1 ever changing, ever evolving planet.

Agreed- It's horribly arrogant of people to assume humans
are different to other species. We just have more
intelligence.

We shouldn't feel guilty about ruling the earth, we should
just treat it with more respect and not use the resources up
so quickly.

I was only about 65% serrious in that last post LP. I don't
think you need to get so worked up.

and I don't think we're different from other species in any
huge quantifiable way, but, I do think we are different in
the extent to which we can modify the environment. and we
(as a species) seem to have a track record of doing so with
little reguard to the other inhabitants of this planet, or
the planet itself for that matter.

another thing that seperates us (arguably) from most other
species, in my opinion, is our advanced sense of 'morality'
and right vs. wrong... and how we can justify immoral acts
in the most assanine ways. in other words, we have a knack
for doing horrible things that we have the capability of
knowing are wrong and justifying them by retarded means (the
holocaust, burning of the library at alexandria, destruction
of the budist statues by the taliban, ect..) ... but, that's
a whole different can of worms that I don't care to go
into.

I'd love to see the human races' self centered bias toward
dominating the universe changed, and I'll spread the word of
anyone who comes up with a good plan to do so... however, I
think that given the past history of people and their cruel
treatment of each other, other species, and the earth in
general I think it's a little naive, and idealistic to think
that anything will change a whole lot.

Of course things will change... that is what nature is all
about... change. In terms of this planet, we have only been
here for a very short amount of time, and look at how much
we have changed.

Current thinking seems to be hung up on preserving things
just as they are are. Whether it be the present evironment,
or our past way of life. All of it is meant to change, and
all of it will change with or without us... e.g. there have
been 20 'ice ages' in the last 2 million years... did we
cause those massive changes in climate? I think not.

IT's cause of commercialism that weed is made illegal, the
alchohol and cigarette companies know that weed would lower
their sales. Maybe i'm talkin outa my ass here, i dunno,
just a theory.

I almost got arrested the other night. Grr :-0

the deal is not only combatting current "enemies", but
creating new ones for the years to come. The more that a
bully fucks around with people who are different than
him/her, the more people become angry and hateful towards
the bully, and the more people the bully has to pick on.
Round we go :D

i think to say a complete fuck to commercialism is rather
ignorant. i've been reading recently about globazation,
deregulation, commercialization, branding, intellectual
property rights, and the list goes on some. alot of things
that people have and take for granted would probably not be
around without commercialism (i.e. computers, or at least
computers at a widely available scale) now i'm definitely
not defending commercialism, i'm rather against it, but you
can't take such a serious issue and widespread issue and
adress it with profanity and rather uneducated judgements.
if anyone is really interested in these things you should go
read some noam chomsky, he really is a remarkable,
intelligent man.

just people. think of them as people.

I thought some things I said in another thread would be
better applied here, so, copy and paste =

America has its problems, just like other nations have their
problems. But you seem to be all over the place on this
weatheredstoner. I would like to see another country handle
being a superpower and not have problems, scary to think but
its almost like a single goverment run world now.

But, people say, oooo america the EVIL capitalist
sociaty, that evil no good market driven sociaty....... fact
is, if you didnt live in a market driven sociaty, you
wouldnt have the luxuries of such things as: being able to
start your own company, being able to hear music from
independant record labels, to be able to have a variety of
products and goods to choose from everyday, to be able to
spend your money on things you REALLY want and not just what
is availible or what the goverment provides.

I think that is very funny and hypocritical to see people on
here who live in a market driven sociaty complain about it.
Try living in Iraq,
Cuba or Korea (north or south... doesnt matter) for a while,
then you might think differently about complaining

I have a good laugh when people complain about free market
economy. its all so hypocritical seeing kiddies use products
that free market created (IBM, Apple, Dell, Gateway... and
so on) and protest it, when its staring them right in the
face, and having the luxuries that the market sociaty (music
that we purchase and apprieciate everyday) produces. I get a
good laugh at that

Economists should design or amend a new market structure,
that would be interesting

If your going to point fingers, point it at all of the
economic structures (mainly just 4) which have been
developed and look how the world is run and what drives it,
because there lies the problem. I dont think any of them
really work. Some better then others, but all have problems

which usually deal with the middle and lower class of
sociaty

although there's the good side of it which is advances in
technology, which will ultimately lead to our exodus from
this deathtrap of a planet-bound existance, so it's all
good.

hahaha, call me a terrorist then

I dont think that ALL economic systems are meant to fail. I
think the free market based economy sytems have been fairly
sucessfull through out history, and the market will always
repair its self if as long as there are people out in the
world who want to sell a product.
