I do not.

I prefer gantz graf.

I say "push", too difficult for me to decide...both have
their merits...

P-Brane. Gantz Graf was so underwhelming. I was expecting
something cutting edge and badass (''Gantz Graf''? With a
name like that, how could it NOT kick ass?) and all it was
was something vaguely resembling something cool. Or
something.

The new plaid one. I agree with Ophecks. Gantz Graf sucked
enough to be permenantly excluded from Autechre's
discography. I'd have preferred jsut aobut anything else.
Hell, the fake COnfield tracks I heard were better.

I dig on the bizzare abstract glitch dsp maglerly maham

p-brane sucks ass. hell, plaid sucks ass. gantz graf all
the way because cap_iv is the most beautiful autechre song
ever!

In general, Plaid don't come close to Autechre. But Gantz
Graf is extremely sub par.

IMO its the best Ae release yet, production is the best i
have ever heard it and the arrangments are pure genious,
keep the goods comming sean and rob.

offline Spookyluke from United States on 2003-01-03 22:51 [#00500836]

I'll give it that Cap.IV is pretty smooth. The beats shift
all over each other until it's overwhelming. That can be
cool. But 2/3 of it is unimpressive.

as in the other two tracks? i think its pretty dank, gantz
graf the track fuckin grooves.

gantz graf is a great example of taking what tools you have
and fucking them tos hit but still generating a pleasing
noise that can evoke something other than pure disgust.

i think if you let gantz graf into your head, it sounds
beautiful. but if you're on a steady headflow then youre
going to be like "what the fuck is this shit"

No problem. I'm a pretty mellow guy. :)

Nope, I can't get the DVD anywhere around here. And
downloading isn't an option, since I have 200mhz processor
that can't render the video well enough anyway. ;)
Heard it's great though.

Eh-ehhh!! I hated Gantz graf! Beh! I had to sit through that
while Spookyluke wrote a review on it--I wanted to break up
with him and kill myself!

Not a good time... not a good time at all.

I am already always stressed out and ready to scream... I
dont need Gantz graf gnawing at my brain either.

you both need to watch the video and huff 7-rock right at
the scene complex about 1:10 minute inwards, so your minds
obtain singularity or some shit

shit you would both die never mind :(

i think the fact that gantz graf makes peoples heads turn
and ache and spin (not mine, but ya know) proves to the fact
that it is a better release. its expanding rather then
trying the tried and true, like plaid did with p brane. all
great art receives the heaviest criticism.

From my point of view, the fact that Gantz Garf makes MY
head turn/ache/spin and makes my stomach lurch and makes me
want to breakup with my boyfriend (who was playing the cd at
the time!) and kill myself to get it over with is because
its bad. :)

Thats just me though. :) I dont like it one bit!

Gantz Graf by far!!!
it showes that æ's music keeps evolving

i do own P-Brane also though, but i never play it, it's like
'just another Plaid' to me..

might be doing something new when the next album comes out.

i do have the video, the track really makes more sense when
you see it..
it isn't 'just noise' anymore ('cause i believe that's the
way you look at it)..

i like it more and more everytime i see it

yeah... for some reason my plaid cds bore me rather
quickly... now they just sit there, stuck between placebo
and radiohead, hoping for a spin.

no contest: gantz graf is the intellectual of the duo.

when I started this thread I never thought of this direction
it has taken...

I mean, saying that p-brane is my choice doesnt mean that
gantz graf is worse or something...AE are my favorite
artists, even over aphex, but in this case I prefer a
release from other artists...just that... it doesnt state
anything apart from that... it is not that from now on I
prefer plaid....

besides, if you think the comparison was nota bad idea, I
mean, two eps similar lenght, somehow similar
production...they where born to be compared (looks like)

I prefer p-brane. Even though gantz graf is also
beautiful... i feel like p-brane touches my heart :-) Gantz
Graf touches my brain ;-)

Also i think the GG-video is heavily overrated. So far i've
watched it 2 times, and i have no desire whatsoever to look
at it again. In retrospect, i wish i would have bought the
cheaper version off GG without the dvd...

As long as we're comparing these ep's, i think the 'eyen'
video on p-brane is much better!! I love that video!
It reminded me of how great animation can be... + i also
love children's drawings. Truly wonderful.

plaid bores the hell out of me, so p-brane was okay, but
just, as someone said "just another plaid".

gg blew me away. again. as I kind of expect from ae.

well if you were looking for something new then gg is the
usual ae stuff just like p-brane is the usual plaid
stuff, every artist has its own style,i don't see a great
change from confield to gg for example

but look at whole æ's work from incunabula till gg .. i
think their music truly evolves.. far more than plaid or
BoC's ..
but preferring either P-Brane or GG is just a matter of
taste after all
