Who is the baddest ass of them all? You can listen to them in the presence of others and say, ''damn straight, I am cool. I'm cool and special''. An artist you know will never go out of style. It'll always be ''cool'' to like these guys. I'd say the Velvet Underground. There's something badass about the early Rolling Stones, too, but they fucked that up. Dylan is eternally cool, Leonard Cohen, Nick Drake, guys like that. But above all, it's the MOTHER of all artsy pretentious wankers, the VU. Autechre ooze with coolness when it comes to IDM, though a bit too many people dislike them... Amon Tobin is just one cool cat, though. |
