Muthafucka backed up his shit with some of the best music
ever, I'd be full of myself if I could write stuff like
Strawberry Fields Forever and A Day in the Life.

Well there are lots of musicians who are well regarded but
as soon as they open their mouths spew out loads of rubbish.

I don't really care what an artist says, I don't even take
into consideration his politics or his asshole attitude as
long his music is better than everyone else's.

I keep checking in on this topic to see who are the coolest
artists, but I keep forgetting that it turned into the 'post

.....Source Direct are pretty cool....

....they make dark, evil, cool sounding drum n bass, one of
them has spent time in a mental institute, and when they
first made it big, they bought matching black BMW
M5s........... possibly the most bad-assed car on the planet

All this cool junk reminds of those sort of geeky kids
dressed like clowns who go around events asking for your
contact details like some sort of networking shallow
nobodies.

What the hell happened to Metalheadz? Goldie with all his

I agree on Frank Zappa. he was cool.

Tori Amos though - no. she is not cool. she irritates the
hell out of me. seems very artificial to me.

and OFCOURSE John is 10.000.000x cooler than Paul. John has
it, Paul doesn't. three words: Mul of Kintyre. :(

Beck is cool. Frank Black is cool. Kim Deal is coooool. Lou
Reed is shatteringly cool.

Metalheadz was sort of at the forefront of the d&b
revolution for about 5 minutes. If you go into the
Metalheadz site its like a ghost town hasn't obviously been
updated for years.

Source Direct and Photek promised a lot as I recall but
never really delivered. Photek's 'Hidden Camera' was the
best release.

Did anyone remember the way the rags like Muzik would hype
up Metalheadz artists?

I use to be into Source Direct and Photek but they got left
behind as I see it.

clic: You're right, it was J-Majik.

promo: Yeah man, Metalheadz.. that shit got played quick.
Who would you say is at the forefront of dnb now, like.. if
the revolution were still going on?

pomme de terre,

You know I don't know. I guess the obvious answer for me
would be Squarepusher. I just think that the whole
Metalheadz thing has been totally left for dust.

I mean has anyone heard the kind of drivel that Grooverider
plays on Radio 1, absolutely appalling, that sound he's
peddling is like 5 years old? I remember I use to listen to
some Fabio and Grooverider on Kiss like back in '97, how
times have moved on.

Johnny Cash is fucking awesome! And so cool!!! That new
cover of hurt that he has out is amazing! Even though he
can't sing anymore, the song is fucking touching, cause you
know that he actually did go through hell through his life,
and all the words mean something coming from him... he's
like the only country singer I can stand!
