Is SAWII that good?

I'm really nervous about listening to SAWII for the first
time in full on Christmas Day.

Does it grow on you the same way Drukqs does? I really hope
it does, otherwise I wouldn't have wasted time, money and
effort.

Please tell me it does!! :s

Set yourself a good 2 hours in the evening to sit down and
listen to it....

Its not an album for quick fixes. you gotta indure every
second of it!

Yeah! Like there's absolutely no breeze whatsoever and what
tiny breeze there actually is feels hot!!

You will enjoy it. Don't think it's just all atmospheric
breeze like synthesizers, as there are a few tracks that are
some house sounding music. Disk 1 #8 is an example. Keep
an open ear, and an open mind.

i'd throw it on in the background on occasion before you
listen to whole damn thing with full attention. it will
jump out at you here and there and grow on you.

It's the music of my childhood dreams. I remember how my
granny used to sing something to me when I was ill and
couldn't sleep, it was so dark, and the big clock ticked
continuously... It's exactly track 8 of CD1... 'Blur'

It will grow on me like LICHEN does to the branch of a TREE
while a ufo CIRCLES ahead over the distant CLIFFS.

lol =D

i think saw2 is definitely aphex's standout album
not to say its his best, or my favorite..

its pretty different from all his other albums, somewhat
'difficult' at times..and it takes time to get used to..
but once you get used to it, and begin to appreciate it..its
worth it..
i think its his most important album, artistically
its kinda like his equivalent to sp's MIRON and ae's
confield..

the quote on the sticker of the sire version says it best:
"if the monolith in 2001 could talk, this is what it would
sound like"

does it matter whether everyone else says its good?

I dunno, if the monolith spoke I think it'd say something
like "I would like some milk from the milkmans wifes tits!!
Where is she dammit?!?!?"
