I'm listening for the first time a track by Tangerine
Dream... really cool!
It's phaedra (track1) a mix between SAWII style and some old
acid sound.

Cool!

What do you think or suggest about them?

\/\/.

could guess who it was, and he thought it was someone off
warop records, i told him it was from the 1960-70's he
couldn't beleive it!!! good stuf!

Phaedra is great track - timeless classic (also another one
from that lp. like for example Sequent C - flute with long
long delays and reverb - it reminds SAWII for some reason).
Try another releases by Tangerine: Rubycon (similar to
Phaedra - two parts of throbbing bass lines along with synth
landscapes and mellotron chords). If you are more into
ambient - better listen to "Zeit" (my favourite) or "Atem"
(that one was Peels album of the year - 1973). They were
very important band and their sound has an influence over
last two decades of electronic music.

I have the rare "bicycle race" on blue vinyl for sale.
Anyone interested?

I only heard their soundtrack on the movie "legend", which
was nice if not a bit cheesy

I love TD .. they are fabulous. The most recent thing I got
from them was the sorcerer soundtrack. My favorite of their
stuff is probably Optical Race, even though it's kinda late
(1987). Although I have only seen the movie and do not yet
have the CD, the Firestarter soundtrack is great too.
Hyperborea is also remarkable.

Phobia: what's bicycle race? is it a single form the
optical race era or something?

it's a unique bootleg from 1990. also available in other
colors and rare in my experience.

they rule.

I have some of their recent albums from the 90's, which
mostly suck, apart from Mars Polaris.

Another very good yet highly creepy album is Zeit.

Woofey,

do a search on TANGERINE DREAM on the MB, you'll find a lot
more suggestions on songs to check out.

it's one of my favourite 'older' bands!!
