· Jan Garbarek - Molde Canticle
that was a very, very long time ago! i was like... 7
maybe, or 8... not more!

· Peter Gabriel - In Your Eyes (live)
last track off 'secret world live', first cd i bought...
it hardly effects me the way it used to by the time, but i
remember loving it so much...

· Oasis - Underneath The Sky
THE track that really introduced me to rock, i had hardly
heard any rock songs before (except for the beatles etc.
but, maybe because i was too young, i don't know, it didn't
do a lot for me). i can say it was the first real step in my
'musical journey' too, maybe because it was the first mp3 i
had got as well (a friend of mine gave me a cd-r with unreal
tournament and 'the masterplan' of oasis in mp3, on which
this song was on).

· Nine Inch Nails - Ruiner
hadn't found any song that beats, or even are equal to,
this one. i doubt i will ever. i think the only thing that
could happen is me getting bored of this track (because no
track is perfect), so maybe liking a new one more because it
is newer and (almost...) as good. but not because it is
better, i doubt it. please, listen to this one in high
quality speakers or headphones, it really deserves it - i
tried to play it on my friend's computer once and it just
didn't make it compared to what i was used to.

· Marilyn Manson - Tourniquet
this song reminds me of an episode in my life, which
could almost perfectly be described by this song... i don't
want to talk about it but it's important for me...

· Tool - Third Eye
just awesome. now i like 'Ænema' more, but 'Third Eye'
is just such a powerful track... yes, powerful is the word
that defines it best imo. it didn't made it enough to be
better than 'Ruiner' to me, but it was close. even very
close at the beginning. and it has this particular taste
only Tool has... Tool is one of these bands who i would say
have a "taste" to their music, a special strange feeling to
them. Coil does, too.

· Opeth - Blackwater Park
<

· Opeth - Blackwater Park
this one is at the same approximative level as 'Third
Eye' and 'Ruiner', now i find it better than 'Third Eye'.
all these three songs i would define as "epic".
'Blackwater Park' is the ending track of the awesome album
of the same name by Opeth... on the last two lyric lines, i
always put the volume up. it is so apocalyptic, always
leaves me with such feelings at the end.
perfect to listen when you want the world to come to an
end.

· Coil - The Anal Staircase
many songs were stuck in my head for several days... this
one was stuck in my head for weeks, and still sticks
whenever i listen to it. it is the stickiest song i know.
"infamous" (as someone said) and great!! ^^
other Coil tracks which are important for me: 'Ostia (The
Death Of Pasolini)', 'Heartworms', 'Christmas Is Now Drawing
Near', 'Rosa Decidua', 'Panic', 'Amethyst Deceivers', 'Ubu
Noir'... there are too much in fact...

· Photek - KJZ
i hesitated between KJZ and Alpha 1. i think KJZ is
slightly better and i have more things to say about it...
many (everybody maybe) will disagree, but this track is one
of, if not THE, most beautiful electronica songs i've
heard.
mellow and soft tracks AREN'T the most beautiful for me,
this track is beautiful in such a different way, it is
beautiful in the way it has... it reminds me of the 4
elements and especially the earth, which isn't my favorite
element at all but this track makes me think of it, and in a
very good way... after all, many things grow out of earth
are beautiful... (maybe it didn't make any sense to you but
again it is how i feel it ' _ ')

· Einstürzende Neubauten - Kalte Sterne
this song is awesome. combines a real selenitic (lunar)
beauty, an industrial side and panicked lyrics. makes me
think of a dying mermaid, lying alone on the moon... the
dying mermaid being me, i would like to be one but i don't
find myself... my soul isn't "pure" enough to be one (i
know, that doesn't really mean anything bu

(i know, that doesn't really mean anything but that's how i
feel it...).
yes, this track has a real purity to it too, despite its
kind of "dirtyness".
another E.N. song which got stuck in my head for some time
and which i find important for me is '12305(te Nacht)'...
and 'Sonnenbarke' and 'Sabrina' too, with their strong
ambiances (so melancholic for Sonnenbarke)...
and 'Yü-Gung' too, with its psychosis!! i would like to
make a video for that track...

...

heh

i needed THREE posts to type this in its entirety, and i
could have added more tracks... ^^

Yeah I remember Photek 'The Hidden Camera'. That was the
best thing he ever did. He never exceeded it.

yeah hobbes!
i wore out the eric b. let the rhythm hit em single until it
wound back on itself and blew up my box...
i used to sample with casettes by making loops using the
pause cue and layer tracks until they were almost
inaudible.
fun, though.

not a great passtime either, but when you're 13 and can't
afford decks, and you just can't cut it right with the
library's commodore 64....

i'd love to have that kind of time again.
