are the inside photos blurry? hard to distinguish? or do you
actually see a clear photo of cliffs etc...?

thanks, Glss Eater...I'm sure I will!

Seems like my sort of album through and through. And just
listening to the 30sec sample of Rhubarb made me cry, so
imagine what the whole album would do!

SAWII for Christmas... then I got it, and I hardly ever

i think saw I and saw II are perfects but yeah you cant
compare them i think...
saw II is more some kind of well done pre-drukqs or
somethin'
:)

well done pre-drukqs? Wha? So you can't compare SAWII and
SAWI, but you can compare SAWII and Drukqs? Come on now,
that doesn't make sense!

i think windowlicker was more of a pre-drukqs...or was
drukqs a pre-windowlicker?
well..

SAW II is a great album. I have to be in the mood for it
though but when I am.....oh boy!

Toejam: You should d/l Match Sticks, Rhubarb and
Tassels.....these are among the best of that album!

great new avatar glass_eater! :-)

And about the topic:

Actually the artwork of SAW II is the only thing about it i
can't stand. The concept is pretty cool, but that lazy
bastard didn't even bother to change it for the cd-version.

I think the vinyl-version of sawII has 25 tracks, and the
cd-version has 24 tracks.

And yet the cd-artwork features 25 different pictures, and
the 6 little circles are divided into 25 parts. Ruins the
whole concept :-/

SAWII makes reality less present - you're like in a slightly
different world, reality seems more cold and far away, it's
a bit scary sometimes but so good... of course you have to
be in the mood to listen to it in whole, but it's not as
mood-exigeant as drukqs or most ae.

SAWII is a record to play in the night, with all lights off,
laying on your bed. especially for [tree] and [blue calx]
methinks.
you appreciate it much more this way.

it's a great album, my favorite along with icbyd. (i don't
see why all people hail [rhubarb] as so beautiful, making
them cry though.) it has the only tracks which i would ever
consider as "scary", especially [spots] but some others are
dark/scary as well! (if you have the UK version you'll have
[hankie] on it; if you don't, download it...) :)

[blue calx] makes me think i'm underwater, very peaceful,
lonely, beautiful... it really is blue, dark blue,
under the ocean... have you played myst? i think of the
underwater library in the stoneship age...

[cliffs] is gorgeous, i won't describe it but it's certainly
one of my favorite 7\ tracks.

[mold] has this child voice, singing and a bit haunting...

[tree] makes me feel like i'm under the ground, below a
giant tree growing over me, especially at the beginning...
it's the only track that gives me that kind of feelings, no
track ever has a feeling which ressembles to this one...

the two [white blur]s are great as well, more weird, i'd say
they have (especially the first one) a lunar feeling to
them...

[shiny metal roads] (or is it [parallel stripes]? i'm not
sure which one) feels like an electricity stream and a
tribal dance, still being ambient...

[matchsticks] is one of my favorites as well, it's very
beautiful and very warm - i almost always play it twice
because i can't get enough of it in one listen...

Bam!

SAW2 is what got me into ambient music. Hmm, the only other
ambient album I have apart from that one is Ambient 4 On
Land.

The music is just amazing. I've never heard anything else
quite like it. Maybe not for everyone, but if that clip of
rhubarb managed to touch you already, you're gonna love this
album for sure!

It'll probably take some time to get into it though. The
thing is you've got to listen to it not concentrated
on the music. Which is so hard when you've just got it :-p
You feel like you wanna soak it all up immediately and
really focus on the music, but then it won't work.

sawII is an album that gets better with time. Once you've
gotten to know the music... i find you can just let your
thoughts drift away on the beautiful sounds. When i listen
to the entire album now... both cd's... it's almost like
meditation! I feel cleansed afterwards, and i can't imagine
160 minutes have really passed ;-)

I've said it many times before and I'll say it again, SAW2
is just fucking a-m-a-z-i-n-g. I've looked high and low for
something similar to that sound but haven't had much luck...
come on richard, vol 3 please... ... ... ... ...
