What do you think is/are the best Nine Inch Nails track(s)?
I wanna download some of their stuff and I am wondering
which track(s) to get first.

> off pretty hate machine:

ringfinger

> off broken:
wish
gave up

> off downward spiral:
ruiner <- this my favorite song EVER. listen to this with
expensive headphones if you have, please.
the becoming
reptile

> off the fragile:
somewhat damaged
we're in this together
the great below
into the void

> remixes, 'rare' tracks etc. :
dead souls (it's a cover from joy division if i remember)
closer to god
piggy (nothing can stop me now)
ruiner (version)
the perfect drug
...

or if you want to start like i did, download head like a
hole. phm tracks sound a little old, but were easier to get
into than the later ones for me.

hope you enjoy! :)

heres some stuff, some might be repetitive from what others
said but heres a go:

from pretty hate machine:
something i can never have
sanctified

from broken:
wish
help me i am in hell
gave up

downward spiral:
piggy
heresy
the becoming
march of the pigs

further down the spiral:
the downward spiral (the bottom)
at the heart of it all (aphex)
the beauty of being numb

download the quake soundtrack

from the fragile:
somewhat damaged
just like you imagined
even deeper
pilgrimage
la mer
great below
way out is through
mark has been made
the big come down
underneath it all
ripe

things falling apart:
slipping away
the great collapse
metal
10 miles high

still:
adrift and at peace
the becoming
gone still
and all that could have been
persistence of loss
leaving hope

sorry to correct ya, but this REALLY get's on my tits

Nine Inch Nails is not a band, and therefore cannot be
referred to as a "they" or whatever....NIN is ONE
man...Trent Reznor

umm thats definately not nin, is he rolling in $, uh no. the
fragile was the biggest drop on billboard chart history.
and girls cutting themselves? sounds more like manson to me.

obviously he makes more $ than probably all the idm artists
but he still does not reel in the $ as you say, of course he
did make much more $ earlier (downward spiral) those days
are gone.

ha!! that makes me laugh..have you ever read any of his
articles? surely you wouldn't have said that!

my aunt knows Trent personally, btw.
and my brother-->shared a tent with his dad =]
he went to college 6 miles from me...and my friend used to
get babysat by him.
a woman i knows dated him, too.

anyway...he's definately not a sell-out

Starfuckers is my fav. The first version on whichever album
it's on.

starfuckers ruins things falling apart, there was no need to
remix the same song 4 times on one album. i hate one of the
versions, the rest are fine but starfuckers is just not a
very good song, they could have remixed so many other better
songs from the fragile instead of doing 4 for starfuckers.
they had a few mp3s of remixes that werent on the album at
nin.com quite a while ago of La Mer which was pretty good.

Head Like A Hole!
The first NIN I ever heard nearly 13 years ago and to me
this is still Trent's ultimate track..never has there been a
catchier, fist pumping anthem..this song boasts not one or
two but three choruses..that has got be somekind of a
record!

there's only 3 remixes of sf, inc., but it IS 2 too many.
the clouser remix fucking rocks though.

lots of great fragile-era remixes never got released; danny
lohner remixed WITT and please; telefon tel aviv remixed
even deeper (which would've been on the new port south
soundtrack that got cancelled along with the movie); porter
ricks remixed starfuckers in squarepusher's style; a remix
of the new flesh can be heard on one of the
thingsfallingapart.com remix.. and lots of other stuff i
don't have the time to get into at the moment

a friend was just showing me some david bowie,.. and some of
it sounds oddly like NIN,... weird,.. although I've heard
that bowie was one of trents biggest influences,.. so it
kinda makes sense
