Lots of Documentary footage...behind the scenes stuff...one
particularly good one is entitled "Puppets to Pixels". The
deleted scenes are very good as well.

Netlon: I paid £19.99 for it...whatever that is in ¤ ??

The best price you're going to get in the UK is probably
£16.99 inc P&P from play.com

Even taking P&P into account they're consistently cheaper
than on the high street so if you can be prepared to wait a
few days for delivery it's worth buying DVDs from them.

I second play.com they also have a great selection of
region1 dvd's and japanese/american versions of stuff e.g
tri repetae++ for cheap prices.....

No extra import or tax to pay(unlike trying to sneak stuff
into the uk via amazon usa)

After the fucking godawful mess that was "Phantom Menace"
there's no way I'd go see this in the cinema, but I'll rent
it to see the latest special effects from the ILM folks. At
this point I don't care about the storyline at all.

I haven't even seen this yet you know... but I'll have to
rent the movie, and maybe get the dvd over christmas...

How did it get relased in Region 2 before region 1?? You
bastards! :-)

I'm gonna pick it up tomorrow. Can't wait! from what I hear
the digital HD-to digital transfer is stunning.

Episode 2 is much better than Episode 1, but in the scheme
of things it's not all that great. Entertaining in a
nindless way, nice special effects, Yoda kicks some ass,
Hayden Christensen cannot act worth a damn. One to rent
methinks, not buy,

offline TonyFish from the realm of our dreams on 2002-11-11 11:24 [#00437083]

Yeah the yoda scene was the one redeaming feature I'd say
and it was too short. As for the special effects they kinda
got old pretty quickly. At least it wasn't as bad as ep1.
I'm actually looking forward to ep3 despite the fact that
it'll be just like ep2.

the principal problem is the chronology...
how can anyone thrust that the presents episodes are in the
past, and the first ones are in the future...
its killing me
so every scientific technologies we see now (as the double
laser and shits) have dissapear somewhere in the chaos???
and how could anyone like jarjar binks...
im just amazed...maybe like surrounded is amazed by the fear
and loating in las vegas fans...
i just cant get it
(btw i loved the 3 first episodes...)
:/

We do get them on a Mondat but generall unless it's a
worldwide release we get things ages after you. Films are
out on DVD over with you before it's even hit the cinema
here. Plus more often than not you DVDs are better. A good
comparison being the Nightmare on Elm Street boxset. 5 discs
here. 8 for you. I import most of my films. Tuesday is an
odd day for releasing stuff though.

bollocks and I bought Evil Dead 3 instead of that shite
today, long live Bruce Campbell and underground movies with
some real humour and innovation, FUCK YOU STAR WARS!

Well us UK'ers finally got the dvd release - it's the two
disc version with the us theatrical version and the
director's cut, plus all the goodies you can handle. It's
not the bootleg version (with which I think only the
packaging differs?) but it's a damn fine purchase all the
same and looks good next to my book of the dead!

Good call. You got the Book of the Dead too? Didn't it smell
great when you opened it? My favourite trilogy of all time
the Evil Deads.

Ooooh I was so happy when I looked through the book and saw
it to have all the pics from the book in the movie. I just
need Dead By Dawn now, although I wish it was also some kind
of special package (being as ED1 is in the book format and
AoD is a 2 disc fucka) - Evil Dead 2 is probably the best
film of the lot.

I hear you on that. I have the DVD and it's alright.
Although I agree about the lack of a special edition for the
best of the lot. The man cuts his fricking hand off in it
for Chist's sake. Did you know Carmageddon sampled Evil Dead
II? I was playing it one day and just recognised a scream
as being the exact one from the film. I'll give you a
counter point if you want and try adn find the file from the
game.

I haven't played Carmageddon for a looong time - but I'd be
interested in seeing where the scream is from. I can always
download the game from Kazaa =oD

Btw, thanks to Powerdvd you shall be seeing many variations
on Ash's mug nowadays (screen capture easily one of the best
features of the programe) and if the avatar kb limit ever
gets bumped back up I shall be doing some animated shite
yay!

Oh yeah... Yoda kicks ass blah blah blah blah

worth so much compared to dollars, the conversion rate
sucks. In england the DVD is L16.99 thats $27.00 which is
three times what i paid.
