Tuesday? That's mad...

Why do CDs and DVDs come out on Mondays (over here), and
video games on Fridays? And why are trainers released on
Thursday evenings?

It's really good even if it's not any different from his
preview work. But I like a lot.

amon tobin isnt very good from what ive heard. I have
supermodified and its too how do you say it, easy to listen
to. it has no depth. not all that interesting either.

it has no depth my ass... it has CRAZY depth man... His
music is fantastic, mixing so many styles together...

what do you prefer, the sterility of autechre, funkstorung,
arovane, etc.?

I don't like his stale, louder than it should be production.
You have to admit his loops fucking suck. You can actually
here the cuts.

amon tobin just seems subpar to me like plaid, i dont care
for either of them at all. thats my opinion on it, you dont
have to get mad, i dont get mad at any of your opinions.
you can say why you disagree but dont say people are idiots
or stupid because they do or dont like anything. im saying
this in general not specifically for this thread alone.

have you listened to 'double figure'?

offline optimus prime on 2002-10-12 21:14 [#00401788]
Points: 6447 Status: Lurker

Double Figure would be great if it wasn't 60% filler. MANYME
is soooo.. good. :9

Points: 14550 Status: Lurker | Followup to optimus prime: #00401788

what're the filler tracks (excluding 'tak' since those are
the obvious answers.. and i disagree anyway, they're just
mini-tracks)

offline optimus prime on 2002-10-12 21:21 [#00401802]
Points: 6447 Status: Lurker

the 'please skip me' wanking tracks, silversum, ooh be do,
twin home, and to a slightly lesser extent porn coconut co.

offline titsworth from Washington, DC (United States) on 2002-10-12 21:26 [#00401812]
Points: 14550 Status: Lurker

i like porn coconut co. and silversum a lot personally but
the ones you just mentioned are probably my least favorite
on the album. there are some amazing tracks but the rest are
either ok, good, or great.. so what's to hate about plaid?

offline MachineofGod from the land of halo's (United States) on 2002-10-12 21:26 [#00401813]
Points: 3088 Status: Lurker

plaid is just too how do you say it, bubbly maybe. its too
bouncy, i really cant explain the reasons for why i dont
like their music other than it doesnt do anything for me.

but have you listened to double figure?

Points: 6447 Status: Lurker | Followup to titsworth: #00401812

yeah, to me that constitutes filler, songs that ruin what
could have been a near perfect cd.

and i LOVE how 'bubbly' their music is, though 'funk' would
be the better word choice.. i think. ;B

offline titsworth from Washington, DC (United States) on 2002-10-12 21:32 [#00401822]
Points: 14550 Status: Lurker

come on, you can't demand a perfect cd just cos it has some
stellar tracks! by that logic you should hate a lot of
albums and artists.

offline MachineofGod from the land of halo's (United States) on 2002-10-12 21:34 [#00401825]

i havent heard every track on double figure but most of
them. it was better than some of the other songs from their
earlier albums but it just doesnt do it for me as much as
aphex and the countless other electronic artists i listen to

it's just personal taste folks.

i never got into amon, but the two tracks i've heard from
the new one are grabbing me bit more than previous stuff.

i like not for threes.

offline jupitah from Minneapolis (United States) on 2002-10-12 21:38 [#00401833]

but i don't think plaid are "funky" but something else.

nah, they're funky as hell, don't deny. ;E

I kinda like the patchy style of his... it makes it more,
ummm, glitchy I guess... I also love the way he throws in
samples of drum roles in his drill and bass... plus his
samples are just wicked... I love the song Like Regular
Chickens from Permutations, it has such a cool jazz sample!

you've obviously never been to a p-funk concert!

the funk is very distinct... it creeps in, takes hold, and
the ass becomes free...

I can't stop listening to Back From Space...

But fuck, I've barely listened to the rest of the album!
I've got too many things to do/listen to/destroy/read. My
brain is being overrun with information, I can't get to know
this album well yet.
