FLEA was kind enough to consent to my demands that I remix
the track "sky hurled a weekend's worth of gin" that he
produced. So, I spent all night making it, and it is
uploaded to zebox.

Please will you have an earful and tell me what thou thinks
of it?

Thanks,

mArLoWe

well i have to say i didn't like the first 90 seconds or so
but then when that loops comes in the whole thing makes
sense. It sounds like a soundtrack to some 3-D first-person
shooter on a spaceship in another galaxy.

Kewl!

You've got this 'remixing' skill down to a fine art with
this track Paul... and its your first go?! :-O

Excellent work once again. :)

It goes well with new "candle lite" room!

wow you are almost as fast at this remixing business as I am
Marlowe:)

I am d/l it now..

and phatburt dont blame Marlowe for the clattering cluttered
begining...that was my doing and entirely intentional...the
idea was that a chaotic spray of metal fillings dropping on
a magnetically charged surface..and then they are gradually
in the process of aligning and ploarizing them selves to the
magentic poles...

this was the third song in a series of three..the first one
starts in a highly structured almost conventional format and
slowly deteriorates and disntergrates...this track the third
has the process reversed..chaotic start and structured
conclusion..

man I rambled on didnt on..all of you are probably going
blah blah blah yada yada yada...well I am just killing time
as I wait for the track to d/l...38% d/led

what to do now!!...where's my damned acme juggling kit!!

ahahaha -- just you wait and see, flea. . . I hope it's not
what you were expecting, if you had any expectations. Which
of course, you may not have had... :D Well, just listen --
it's quite... different from the original ;) I will be
expanding it once I pay $20 to be a full member of zebox.

other people: the original is at flea's zebox site:

hah ;P maybe in a few months, i haven't been very productive
musically here at school. it used to be an issue of just RAM
(i can't find any RAM that matches my compaq presario slots)
now it's also an issue of hard drive space (soulseek
rules!).

Yipes - I had to delete about 4 gigs of beloved mp3s :-/ . .
. but RAM still fucks with my head... 48 hoeing megabytes
...argh!

i just really resent how compaq designed my computer so that
i can't buy RAM off the market. instead i have to order it
at hiked up prices off compaq.com :/

for 30 grand i'll perform at the wake

Love them both, though I really didn't hear much of a
similarity there... akin the RDJ's remixes that seemingly
have nohting to do with each other! Paully said he used
Flea's samples, but still, I wouldn't know it was a remix
otherwise. Two kickass standalone tracks is what I'd see
them as.

my! i like the droning bass-sounds as well as the mystery
synths. shame about the 'gabber' beat :| you certainly
transformed the track into something else good job savagian.
makes me itching to do a remix as well :)

Well, it certainly threw me off when I first listened to it,
because it is far from the original. That's a good thing
though.
It's like the more 'brighter' (not happy by any means, heh)
side of the original, if that makes any sense. I do like it.
I like both versions. Good work guys. :)

hehe, that "gabber" beat was from the original, slowed down,
EQed to make it less bassy :D my track is 113bpm, and the
original is 140bpm ;)

Thanks for the comments homeboys - I'm ready for remix #2!

Well I have to say that the original is not one of my
favourites by Flea (I can't remember which ones are - I need
to d/l everyone's music again), but it was nice and chaotic
and I give it a 6. The remix I thought was fuckin great!
Great choices made, nice beats, and a smooth as fuck tone to
the melodies. Could be a little harsher, maybe add some
echoing huge beats kinda like 'Verbal' by Amon Tobin - I
give the remix an 8 though =o)
