The new J5 - Power in Numbers is also AMAZING! it was
to be expected though, as they are legends already

Prefuse 73 vocal studies and uprok narratives. 2001, not
that new but some of the best hiphop to date.

RJD2 and Boom Bip rock hard. However, I should be getting
Mr. Lif's debut today and I'm pissing my pants with
anticipation. Other than that,, that Urban Renewal
compilation on Ninja Tune/ Chocolate industries is awesome.

Ahem, that's not exactly "new". Came out in may, methinks.
Then again, I'm sounding like a fucking snob here, sorry,
mate, no offense meant, it's a great album, possibly the
best HH album this year.

Hehe, you're right, it's excellent. He definitely never
tries to repeat what he did on previous releases. Plus his
selection of emscees is fantastic. His wife delivers
unbelievable raps on those two tracks...

Blackalicious - Blazing Arrow is another of my favourites,
and if you classify Nightmares On Wax as hiphop, then their
new album is awesome too

offline Meho Krljic from Beograd (Yugoslavia) on 2002-10-02 06:13 [#00389966]

Haven't heard these two... The first Blackalicious was so-so
to me, some fantastic tracks, some misses... About NOW, my
mates said so much shit about this album (about it being bad
attempt at making MTV-friendly R&B) that I never really got
to listening to it. So, you recommend it?

May I add that he produces one of the only valuable french
hip-hop band - they are called TTC. You can try to get an
overview of the LP (out now on Bigdada)on soulseek but if
you don't perfectly understand french and it's ghetto
derivation you certainly won't find them interresting.

the new NOW is very laid back chilled hiphopish stuff, and i
could understand why some people might not enjoy it, but i
personally like it yea

I heard one song on Ninja Tune website several months ago
and it blew me away and then I read a very good review of it
on urbansmarts website. I like their flow and I like the
music, too, but those same mates that I mentioned two posts
down don't like them enough to download them off soulseek.
I'll have to get it eventually.

It's kinda funny as those same mates of mine like stuff like
Destiny's Child, Sugababes etc...

the concept/concepts of the album is out of this world, if u

pretty on point too, sum oldschool stuff).

I'll get it either today or tomorrow. Nice to see ya archie,
BTW. Dead on regarding Def Jux, with this album they have
surely promoted themselves into a label of the year.

yeah..the boom bip album is great..
i got alias' 'other side of the looking glass' the same
day... and i think its one of the best albums i've bought
all year..
im not sure how new it is though..i think it came out last
year

sage francis' personal journals is also very good

i really liked rjd2's album.. but it was stolen...

the new themselves album 'the no music' is really nuts too

i still have to get the doesone/boom bip album.. the store
around here must stock it occasionally...they have the
little card for it...
if its anything like the track doseone did on 'seed to the
sun' ..it must be spectacular

It's not at all new, but Quasimoto: The Unseen is the most
beautiful Hip Hop album I've heard in years... quite
possibly ever.

only 1 album is worth getting right now and that is "the
future is now" by Non-phixion. Get this album for some REAL
hip-hop and not the stuff of GS's,Moët, jewelry and other
playa-shite that tops the charts nowadays.
