NIN DVD

|REFLEX| from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada on 2002-01-29 02:13 [#00075899]

For anyone who bought the Live DVD, your in for a treat,
besides the awsome material, quality ofvideo {some of it is
SO good that it actually looks real, SURREAL DVD quality}
and songs.... most, if not all the songs are somewhat
different from the CD versions and soung awsome. There is a
hidden feature in it, on the 2nd disc right at 11:20 {its
the song Head Like a Hole} hit 7 ony our DVD remote, you
will get a hidden menu with:

- A live version of The Day The World Went Away, with odd
images and stuff throwin in.

- Reptile Live

- 3 NIN commercials

- Half of Starfuckers Inc. at another concert and Marilyn
Manson helps sing the rest, and then a full version of NIN
doing the Beautiful People with Marilyn Manson.

I just watched the whole DVD plus this BIG extra 2 times
now, its an amazing piece of art.

attakk on 2002-01-29 02:43 [#00075904]

they only have part of starfuckers with manson?

T on 2002-01-29 02:50 [#00075910]

I hate NIN.

THis is prolly the only time I will ever ask "What the fuck
does this have to do with the aphex twin."

|REFLEX| from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada on 2002-01-29 02:53 [#00075912]

A lot actually..... you think you know a lot about Aphex
Twin and then you go and say he has nothing to do with him!?
Talking about breasts and other crap does?

Aphex Twin did an original song for NIN on a album called
Further Down The Spiral, and remixed a NIN song for that
same album as well, Aphex Twin {RDJ} himself said that hed
love to tour with Nine Inch Nails, so it has lots to do with
it.

Anyway, yes its just the last part of Starfuckers Inc with
Manson, and then all of the Beautiful People. All the stuff
aint bad at all for extras.

T on 2002-01-29 02:58 [#00075914]

Who the fuck doesn't know that. Brilliant Reflex. Actually
he did two trax (well, one and a half actually) on there,
and I doubt that he did those because he liked NIN (ie;
$$$$$). Trent Reznor is a knob, and doesn't deserve the
money and attention he has been given by all those fucking
whiney, teenaged, gothy, cum-sponges that were just looking
for another reason to feel sorry for themselves.

T on 2002-01-29 03:00 [#00075915]

Sorry, I jumped on that after barely skimming your rebuttle.

You actually believe anything that Richard D James says? You
are a schmuck.

|REFLEX| from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada on 2002-01-29 03:01 [#00075916]

Actually no, he only did 1 song and remixed another like i
just said, so how can you say it has nothing to do with
Aphex Twin, dont be retarded, because more than half the
topics on this MB have less to do with Aphex Twin than this
one.

Who cares what you think about NIN? Are you going to change
anyones mind with your opinion? No. So what? thats your
outlook on it.

Why would AFX say he wants to tour with NIN if he didnt like
him, or remix his songs, h ave you read any AFX material!?
obviously not, he said many many years ago that he doesnt
remix people he doesnt really enjoy listening to. enojy
listening to as much as his own stuff. which is what he
mostly listens to he says, so obviously your god AFX likes
the one you seem to hate so much. Your so full of agnst.
Teenage agnst.

|REFLEX| from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada on 2002-01-29 03:03 [#00075917]

Hahaha and you disbelieving everything he says makes you a
non shmuck? Yeah ok, great logic! Jesus christ, whatever
man, I never heard of anyone remixing and taking time to
create a original song for anyone they didnt like, let a
lone say that youd want to tour with them after. Yeah he was
totally making that up, for some weird reason im sure. Thats
so stupid.

titsworth_courier from washington, dc on 2002-01-29 03:07 [#00075918]

trent rules, richard rules. two crazy musical geniuses.
don't get all high and mighty kids, aphex twin is as much a
pop star as nine inch nails. get over yourselves. anyway,
yea, i love nin, love the dvd. can't get sf inc/tbp to play
on my dvd-rom (yet). tried to press enter at various times
during sf inc and couldn't get it. i think i need to use my
real dvd player which is back at home (i'm away at college).
the tdtwwa video is directed by tomato, underworld's people.
they left it partly unfinished hence the live ending and the
live audio throughout. beautiful imagery. as for the 2
tracks on FDTS, they're not remixes, just old tracks. at the
heart of it all (which i played on my radio show today!) is
an alternate version of ventolin and part b of the beauty of
being numb is something original. i'd love to have a real
remix of nin, probably something off of the fragile, lots of
layers to work with. these are two of my favorite artists.
trent cites aphex twin (among other electronic artists) as
an influence and yes, richard has said he'd like to tour
with nin. i doubt he'd even say it if he weren't serious. he
may not think trent's a musical genius (richard is a very
arrogant person and picky when it comes to music) but he
obviously has gained some sort of respect for trent, even if
initially he just gave him those FDTS tracks for $.

btw there's also an alternate version of gave up on disc 1
and a hidden "beneath the surface" menu on disc 2 of the nin
dvd.

i wish i didn't have homework tonight so i could watch my
dark days dvd which just arrived today.

titsworth_courier from washington, dc on 2002-01-29 03:12 [#00075919]

the only bad things about nin:
1. their fans (90% of the vocal ones)
2. the present and past goth persona (really stupid, boring,
and fake. i wish trent would drop it, and actually i think
he is slowly phasing it out. he didn't wear any bloody
fishnet stockings on the fragility 2.0 tour and he has a
full grown beard of all things right now. i am really
digging the elliott smith look he has going. i hope he drops
the goth teen angst, he's too old for it, and goes for the
serious musician look cos he's a truly incredible writer and
performer.)
3. "deep" - momentary sell-out. "the perfect drug" was also
contrived except for the beautiful ending which served as a
precursor to the fragile. as for "deep", he redeemed himself
with 'still' and this dvd.
4. doesn't release as many singles as he used to. i know
about a lot of unreleased remixes and studio tracks that
will just never come out, or not until a boxed set in 2015.
5. has yet to respond to any of my four eloquent and
insightful emails, though he followed my advice to the tee
for 'still' oddly enough.

arguments are fun

T on 2002-01-29 03:50 [#00075926]

They are.

Especially with some of the assholes that jump onto one
because of issues they have with insecurity and such.

BTW, don't bother getting defensive |reflex|, I am leaving
this computer in a few minutes and I won't be able to
reply.

Anyways, ttyl all. Try to have a little fun with life,
instead of stagnating on the computer trying to force your
ego upon others.

|REFLEX| from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada on 2002-01-29 03:53 [#00075927]

Hahah which you tried so hard to do. Great plan.

titsworth_courier from washington, dc on 2002-01-29 04:40 [#00075933]

trent's on rockline right now
www.ksan.com click listen (i dunno the station but they have
a stream)

titsworth_courier from washington, dc on 2002-01-29 05:38 [#00075944]

cool, they asked my aaliyah question. trent answered my
question that no one else has ever asked him. cool.

|REFLEX| from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada on 2002-01-29 06:21 [#00075949]

Which was?

Pusher of the Square from mars on 2002-01-29 07:21 [#00075955]

actually Aphex did 2 tracks on that further down the spiral
cd, there is a rare release that has two songs, and then
there is a rerelease that only has one. Rephlex calm down
man, before you get kicked agian. Dont take everything so
serious

|REFLEX| from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada on 2002-01-29 08:07 [#00075965]

How can I take it serious? huh? He said something stupid so
I corrected him. He did not do 2 songs, he only did 1. And
remixed another, therefore he only did 1 song and not 2.

titsworth_courier from washington, dc on 2002-01-29 15:41 [#00076026]

something like "as we all know, aaliyah recently died in a
plane crash. you two had discussed working together. are you
a fan of her music and what do you think the studio session
would have been like?" which he gave a long and thoughtful
answer to

recycle from lincoln.ne on 2002-01-29 16:21 [#00076033]

reflex-----
thanks for the hidden info i need to get the dvd. have the

|REFLEX| as in the guy who was banned from Joyrex ??

|REFLEX| from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada on 2002-01-29 20:55 [#00076102]

Yes, the same. To what end

Taxi on 2002-01-30 09:24 [#00076277]

>How can I take it serious? huh? He said something stupid so
I corrected him. He did not do 2 songs, he only did 1. And
remixed another, therefore he only did 1 song and not 2.

BTW, don't go around judging people's inteligence or
personality by a couple things they say online. You are
opening yourself up to humiliation (yet again). How do you
think you come across? Baisically, I could care less about
whether or not he actually remixed one or both of the trax,
or whether or not they were original pieces, or whatever
else. I have better places for my energy. If you really need
to prove yourself that much then more power to you.

Why did I even bother replying to this anyway? Silly taxi...

|REFLEX| from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada on 2002-01-30 09:44 [#00076333]

Humiliation. Oh I was so humiliated by all that, im glad to
see you think that. Wow!

Anyways, wasnt that you cloning on the other topic, I
believe Phobiazero pointed that out nicely.

Taxi on 2002-01-30 10:02 [#00076337]

No one is trying to humiliate you |Reflex|. I fully admit to
that cloning, and it was all in good fun. You obviously
haven't grown a sence of humor in the 6 month sabatical
where in you were expelled from here.

If I am not mistaken, you were quoted as saying a whole
bunch of nasty shit while you were banned about this place,
and the people who frequented here. If I really cared, I
would go and search out that thread. But I don't.
I don't hate you |Reflex|. I never did, but you seem to want
to make enemies out of people, just to prove them to think
you have intelligence, or sophistication, or something of
that nature. Why don't you just carry one normally, and let
everyone judge for themselves? I don't think you have much
to prove but you sure do act like you do.

|REFLEX| from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada on 2002-01-30 10:40 [#00076346]

So ok let me get this straight, its ok for other people to
be a jerk or try to act like they know anything but when I
do it its wrong and I get told so by people like you, so
great.

Xen from UK, Cheshire on 2002-01-30 11:22 [#00076348]

|REFLEX| don' t know if u remember me but hey, my old name
was Milphex....

im on the Joyrex MBs, just though i'd say ello!!

;D

Taxi on 2002-01-30 14:32 [#00076376]

The problem being is that you act like you know everything,
and take any chance you get, it seems, to tell everybody
else who dissagrees with them that they are stupid. I am
sorry if this is not what you mean to put across, but it
sure seems like that sometimes. You seem like a nice guy
otherwise, so just quit the pretentious act.
