are we not all aware that all the hardware machines out there these days(for the most part) have internal software running them? i mean obviously the machine is nothing without the software inside it. unless youre speaking completely anolog. so taking this into consideration you have to
COMPARE COMPUTERS TO MACHINES SUCH AS THE MC505 and dumb crap like that.
the computer has MUCH more memory,
you can add a sound card with multiple outputs, i
ts cheaper,
has sampling,
add an external midi controller with knobs if you want to controll something on the screen.
it does everything and more. the only valid debate ive heard is the comparison of analog quality output compared to the computers output. but have we all forgotten that its not the sound that really matters but the quality of the song? you ever notice all the old records you listen to sound like crap but you still love them?
BUT MY MAIN POINT IS all these hardware machines you love so much are just smaller computers with software inside. dont you get that? it doesnt take an idiot to understand it. unless youre running analog equipment youre just one of us software junkies.

yeah, a long time ago, i realized i wouldnt be able to make my music just using hardware, cuz its to fast and complicated really. but i guess, hardware come in handy when creating sounds.

hardware like the mc505 are more than often anolog thus their output is alot fatter than the computers binary interpretation!
the "dumb hardware" that you mentioned may have little memory but surely you could use it as a sound module using a software sequencer??

why would you want to use the same sounds every other wanker out there has? the mc505 is a dying machine in my mind. ESPECIALLY the drum sounds. horrid. the synths and such are still usable.
