i like to use www.samplenet.co.uk , they are 100% copyright free (or so they so)
also, www.partnersinrhyme.com have a bit, but be careful to use the copyright free ones if your going to use them in a song that'll be available to the public :)

everything has a copyright automatically... it's something you don't need to apply for, you automatically have a copyright on anything you create...

true everything you make automatically has a copyright on it but that doesnt necessarily mean you can prove it was yours first AND sue someone for using it. a simple thing ive discovered is this...
once you complete a song, burn it, send it through the mail to yourself, then never unseal it. the dated post mark(issued by a government run whatchacallit, the postal service) on the envelope serves as legal proof that the song was yours first, or at least as of that date you had it.
