man aren't they just the most impressive flying objects?

i really do think so, i'd love to see one in real life, but
i doubt if they're still being used...

i really like the enourmous size of these things, i read
this German zeppelin called Hindenburg was 245 meters (804
feet) long and 41 meters (135 feet) in diameter .. that's
huge!!! :D

a small but persistent group of people has been trying for
years now to make zeppelins make a come-back. Apparantly
they're safer (non-flammable) now then they were before.

And really, i think this is a good idea. They're clean,
silent, and like you said quite beautiful to look at.

Remember that scene in indiana jones where he throws the bad
guy out of the zeppelin, and then says to all the other
(shocked) passengers: "uh... he didn't have a ticket", and
they all start waving their tickets at him, whaha! I love
that scene ;-)

Kind of stupid filling them with flammable gas though... ;)

They still have all those Zeppelins flying above football
and baseball games. Maybe they're not very cost effective
though. But they are cool so I would love to travel on one,
say from Boston to LA.

yeah initially those idiots filled it with hydrogen (which
is very flamable)
but now that they use helium there shouldn't be any problems
at that point

did you ever see the old footage of the Hindenburg blowing
up?

they have other zepplin type crafts these days....like the
Goodyear Blimp.....and they solved the flamable gas thingy,
it was the best technology at the time tho, so you can't
blame them for trying.

it had made other successful trips before the big
conflageration.....so it wasn't looked at as risky back then
till the fire happened.

thank goodness for the innovators of yesteryear, they made
what we have possible!

=0)
