Left handed to write, I can do nearly everything with both hands, but I prefer but right handed for lots of things- scratching, throwing knives, canoeing, fencing etc. I like fighting left handed in martial arts as it gives you a huge advantage. |

They have a 10% higher IQ on average and the clumsiness thing is a myth- the higher rate of accidents are from using right handed tools. With left handed tools it's the same. Oh and we have a distinct advantage in racquet sports and martial arts as we can play equally well against left or right handers, whereas right handers have real trouble playing against us. Fun Fact: At different times in history different hands were dominant- in ancient rome about 80% of the population was left handed (I blame my Italian blood ;) ) Before they had much contact with westerners the innuit (eskimos) were mainly left handed. |

Ceri JC: as for either hand being an advantage in ma. leading with your strong side is an advantage yes... but assuming that either one, left or right handed, might be an advantage is a fallacy. [or possibly a limitation in the style your involved with]. i've been in ma over 30 years and i've found that it really doesn't matter what the other guy does if you've done your homework. |

mainly left handed..but becoming more and more ambidextrous...having to use right handed mouse etc..now I can draw and write with my right hand a bit better than I used to ..I also played right handed guitar and bass guitar so my fingers on the right hand a lot more nimbler than a lot of right handers left hands so to speak |

Consider, while seeing the poll, that only about 10% percent (or less! i cant remebmber) of the general population is left handed! this is weird shit! wery extreme poll. perhaps the explanation is:right handers see their handness as nothing special, while lefthanders tend to have pride in being left handed, and therefore respond.?? maybe. |
