is this album really one of his best?
i haven't either SAW I or II.
i thought I was a bit dated.
i am really into ICBYD, Come to daddy, RDJ album and
druqks.
what are your opinions?

i'm getting 'do you knw squarepusher' tonight!
fianlly!
it took forever for my gurrlee to take back the one she got
me [i had it already] and get me the new one!
i am sooo stoked!!!

Yes SAW II is his best. For anyone who has been into Aphex
from the start this is the best yes yes. Exceptionally deep.
This is the number 1 ambient record of all time no question.
Yes yes yes.

I think it was voted the best by this site anyways.

To me it is. It just stands out compared to the rest of his
work. It's almost surreal in its sounds.

DYKS might disappoint...it's nothing "Go Plastic" didn't
already do, plus the live disc isn't very good.

saw I is more alike stuff you already have
saw II on the other hand, is his most unique album,
beautiful ambient stuff, not much beats and drums on this
one
its one of my favourite rdj releases

do you know squarepusher rocks

DaWeeze,

Yeah surreal is a perfect description. Nothing comes close
to SAW II.

from SAW 85-92, download Xtal at least! one of the finest
RDJ tracks. :)

SAW II is an album i may not play very often, but sometimes
i couldn't listen to anything else than it. playing it at
night; in a dark and comfortable place makes me feel like
i'm in a cocoon, isolated from the everyday reality... in
another world...

tolstoyed,

Oh right yeah exactly it just means which has the best front
cover. Doesn't actually mean which is the best album. That
vote hasn't been done yet.

i think best rdj album poll was done numerous times, i think
one of the better ones was the one by flea (i'll try and
find those results)

I believe if you asked every single Aphex fan in the world
they'd say SAW II. I know my sister would anyways.

No offence but it doesn't surprise me 'cause most people on
the board are newbies.

DRUKQS the most popular. Lol. Christ I haven't even listened
to the whole of that record yet, thats how interested I was
in it.

there's a difference between enjoying ambience more and
spastic beat-work more. I can only listen to saw2 about once
a year..

it being less popular doesn't mean it is less good!

and look at the .nu top album charts, who counted the ratings
people gave to the albums and not the favorite album
- SAWII is in 2nd place.

maybe that would mean SAWII is less popular but the ones who
love it really loves it. maybe.
anyway, SAWII isn't the most accessible 7\ release...

yeah, drukqs didnt work for me at first, i actually got into
it in last week-before that i never listened to it in whole
now it has really grown on me, there are some wicked sounds
onthere and i also like the piano pieces
i could say that i like saw II and drukqs the same
btw, saw II didnt grow on me from begining neither, i got
into it some years after i bought it

saw 2 is far and away his best. hey promo, you seem to be a
newbie, pointing out the newbies and such. plus that poll
was done before you became a registered member.
and drukqs is his second best.

you better believe I was the one who voted for the 'On'
Single.

Anyway, I'm not too big on SAWII, although Cliffs is one of
my favorite songs by him. I definitely prefer SAW 85-92,
since it has more "going on" as oposed to being very
minimal.

Anyway, the choice is yours.
