A question for the gamefreaks...
Two days ago i completed Banjo Tooie on N64. (not with all the jiggy's complete yet, but i defeated grunty anyway).
And i already beat Banjo Kazooie like a year ago.
And you know how at the end of Banjo Kazooie you got to see these little clips of how you'd be able to get special eggs and an icekey if you would also be able to beat Banjo Tooie...
But like i said, now i've beaten Banjo Tooie... and those eggs and the icekey were just in the game. What the fuck? I thought you'd be able to go back to the levels from the first game! Wasn't that little island supposed to rise from the water or something?
I'm keeping my fingers crossed things will become clear after i find all the jiggy's in Banjo Tooie... but right now i'm feeling rather confused. Has anyone here beaten both games and managed to get what was promised at the end of Banjo Kazooie??
(both excellent games by the way! Up there with mario!)

lol, you only get to control mumbo (the voodoo guy) in the 2nd part ;-) (in the first part he would just sit in his skull and transform you).
Yeah but i like him too... i like how he can zap enemies... hehe. He's funny. Both the banjo-games have really excellent humor in them :-)

Ahh, I never got to play the second one, I wish I did...That and I never played the second Zelda for 64. The first one was gold, though.

I didn't get to play Majora's Mask either, but I'm going to buy it the first chance I get and make up for my sins.
Banjo was pretty good, I played the first one, but I never got into it for some reason. Now Mario 64... THERE'S the prototype 3D platformer.

Personally i thought both the 2nd Zelda and the 2nd Banjo were better than the originals.
And ofcourse i do love mario64... but there's something about the level-design i don't like. Some of the levels annoy me to death... they are so obviously "designed" in a way. In the Banjo-games you got to walk through beautiful natural landscapes. And i guess mario had some of those too... but there were also things like that clock-level, and the rainbow ride that weren't fun at all imo. I also hated the desert level... you could hardly properly walk around there... all that quicksand.
But then again mario64 was the pioneer :-) It's allowed to have these mistakes, i will always love it anyway.

i didnt like banjoe tooie, it never kept my interest, i loves the first one though. i thought majoras mask was just as good as ocarine of time.
the next banjo kazooie will be on xbox just so yoiu know.
i also really wanted banjo tooie to see its relation to banjo 1 with the ice cave but i dont know what was up with that. maybe it was just a ploy to get people to think itd be in banjo tooie. banjo tooie also came out way too far after banjo kazooie, not many people played banjoe tooie compared to banjo kazooie.

i really dont see how people cant like majoras mask if you didnt like ocarina, its a great addition to the series, its very similar to ocarina and I thought the ability to use the different characters was a very nice addition.

yeah, I thought was kinda strange, but i thought the last boss was kinda cool, kind of hard, took me a while to beat, certainly was harder i think than beating ocarina of time.

majora's mask is like ocarina of time seen through a weird dream... they have lots of similar elements, but the ambiance is radically different.
i care a lot about ambiance... majora's mask's one i found interesting and weird, but unfriendly and oppressing... what i liked about ocarina of time is that it had some kind of beauty and serenity, you could go where ever you wanted, take your time, and some places were just fantastic... i still remember the first time i played, in the kokiri forest, the first time i got to the temple of spirit in the desert...
when i got out of the temple of time in the future, as an adult, the first time i was so shocked i just wanted one thing: to go back in time... (in fact i had seen my brother playing and he went to this stade before me; when i saw it, i first didn't wanted to put the sword in the stone, i continued exploring as a child for as long as i could! yeah, i'm a sissy!)
only game that had given that much emotion (it may seem ridiculous now that i say it)...
(if you know coil, it's the same thing than with vol.1 (ocarina) and vol.2 (majora) of musick to play in the dark)

i completely agree with what you said, nice comparison to the two coil cds, especially that part on the ambience of the games.

hm yeah... i do actually see what you mean. For the first couple of hours playing Majora's Mask i felt the same way... i really didn't like the fact that it uses so many of the same characters as Ocarina... making it feel more like a weird version of that game than something completely new...
But after a couple of hours playing it started to grow on me. Majora's Mask has much more depth to it i think. In Ocarina of Time all the characters beside link acted like puppets... just standing in one place and saying the same things whenever you talk to them.
In Majora's Mask they start to feel like real living people! Especially once you've gone back through time a couple of times... it's awesome! Really it is... after a few days it made me forget all about Ocarina of Time and just enjoy this new adventure to the fullest!
(hehe, but i really understand what you said about the timetravelling in Ocarina... the first time i went to the future... walking through that deserted town now inhabited by zombies (oh my... i will never forget the sound of that cold wind blowing!)... it scared me and depressed me. I wanted to go back to the "innocense' of the first part again. Luckily not all of the future was so bleak and deserted.
Also... i felt the same way when I first warped to that "dark world" in A Link To The Past.

same thing with Banjo Tooie (well... sort of). I didn't really like it at first. The levels seem too big and very confusing.
But after a while you get used to them, and the game starts sucking you in... until you're addicted to it and you have to beat grunty!

:-(
i hope not!
Also yeah i heard about them being bought by microsoft. Now Banjo&Kazooie, Conker, PerfectDark... will all be appearing exclusively on the Xbox :-( It makes me sad.

Hm, sorry, MachineofGod, I haven't heard of that DVD-instrument. Actually, it just turned out that way when I got photoed. ^_^
In real size, it's very blurry, but when you shrink it into this format, it turned out that way.
