yes, I sometimes listen to "einstein on the beach" but not
all 4 cds after eachother though, I'd go insane if I did
that...

I took a lot of glass out of the uni's CD library and was
totally unimpressed. Steve Reich is a million times better.

I have only one Glass record...The Photographer, it's nice
but nothing stunning.

Reich is awesome tho...Eight Lines is definitly one of my
favorite pieces of music.

If you're into minimalism i highly recommend Terry Riley's
"In C"

well, Reich is more diverse.

I sometimes like what Glass does, but invariably while
listening I start to think he's using the same little trick
again and again and again.

this is interesting. could any of you recommend a single
piece of work by each artist which is good to start with?

maybe you could try 'solo piano' by philip glass (if you
like piano), which contains his Metamorphosis series..
or 'glassworks' just give it a listen, maybe you'll like it

but on the other hand you'd better listen to TonyFish's
advice,
think his advice is a million times better

I got the Koyaanisqatsi soundtracks that he did. Very
unique music. If you haven't seen the movie you should
check into it. It's now available on dvd.
