You have to accept that you're a worthwhile person. Which,
of course, you are. You doubtless have an awesome pantheon
of talents and admirable features. Just accept that other
people can appreciate them and be comfortable with your own
acceptance of them.

start taking yourself and your problems more seriously -
with that I mean, respect yourself more.

I know, pretty hard, still hardly can do it myself.

well said

just be yourself and be happy with it, thats not always easy
but you just gotta be able to not care what other people
think cause most of the time its meaningless anyways

for most people with low self-esteem its not so much about
not caring what other people think, but about not caring
what they themselves think. and thats hard.

i have feelings of low self esteem pretty often - sometimes
i get real depressed about it but it usually passes if i
just talk to someone or spend time with my friends and just
act crazy or something i dunno, i always think id be better
off talking to a psychologist or something, i dont know if
thats the answer though

i know what u mean! i spend all my time making music or
playing music - when people say they like it or i think
thats quite good then that raises my self esteem a lot!

sadness can motivate my making of music too... new years
eve: i was at a party and i got really bored/depressed, i
sat down at their piano and just started playing around with
little stupid ideas, i kept getting weird looks from people
but its what i wanted to do and it pleased me :-)

well you're not, so stop it :)

Download some new music, or watch 12 Angry Men, or 12:01, or
any film with 12 in the title. Play Yahoo Collapse for an
hour. Find someone who cares about you and give them a hug
for no reason.

A very close friend has some problems with self esteem and
it's not easy to get her to see how great and unique she is,
but she is. Everyone is. And you're more significant to
those who care about you. I remember some quotation I heard
once: "to the world you may be one person, but to one person
you may be the world" it's a bit cheesy perhaps, but true
nontheless.

you can get a lot of self-esteem out of finding something
you really want to do, even for the rest of your
life! YEAH THATS HARD AS HELL!! but if you do find it, it
will lift you.

for me it was finding out I was pretty good at writing,
composition in general.

on the other side, I still quite dislike myself, so I'm
still not there.

I also have bouts of depression. Sometimes I find a creative
outlet to express my feelings through. But it can work one
of two ways, it will either make me proud of what I
accomplished or created, or it will make me slip farther
into distress as I observe my work and ponder what makes me
tick.

As far as self esteem; I just lie to myself and I will
continue this as long as I can before I do something
drastic. It also helps to know there are other people who
can relate to the pain of living in your own personal hell.

simple, don't be afraid to fail

that is the only thing I wish to learn this year. When you
aren't afraid to fail, you aren't affraid to try.

Success and joy only come from putting yourself out there
and trying. This is what I'm learning, this is my struggle.

i think that goes hand in hand with the idea of not being
afraid of failing

If you keep trying, you will fail sometimes, but enjoy
success.

Keep trying in the face of failure, and success in whatever
you desire, will come.

At points of clarity, I realize that my life on earth is
meaningless, and that I am merely a pawn in a bigger game. A
game I cannot possible understand or have control of.
Thankfully, before depression sets in, I drift back into my
cloudy, bewildered daily routine.

maybe this is more suiting for the topic. the other really
doesnt explain much.

We are shaped by our thoughts; we become what we think. When
the mind is pure, joy follows like a shadow that never
leaves.

neeta, you gotta look on the bright side of life, think on
the positive, Thats the key, and self affrimation, wake up
and say to yourself, you know what, I am a good person, I
deserve to feel good about myself. And if your not into
talking to yourself, write it down, write down all the
things you are good at, and only write down all the positive
things you like about yourself. Then put if somewhere where
you can look at it, like a mirror or something, and you look
at it and go, yea, I am a super fly person! w00t! Thinking
positivly and keep telling yourself that you are a good
person that derseves to feel good, and that is what its all
about IMHO. And if people are mean to your of something,
brush it off, because people who are mean and spitefull dont
deserve to talk to you.

and this is my serious post for today.

yes

look on the bright side and shine on

WOOOOZLE WOOOSIE WEEEEEE!
