Hey, On the offchance that some of you use 3dsmax I'm in a bit of a tight spot and am in need of some help.
Basically I'm doing a spiral staircase and am trying to make a wall segment that wraps around the stairs. I've lofted a rectange along a helix but for some reason the output is distorted (my guess is that it's rotating it against the helix's pivot point - whereas I need the lofted rectangle to remain upright in the xy plane). Any ideas ??
Many Thanks

Loft a plane across a spiral spline. That should probably do it.

Also in the lofting options you should be able to restrict which planes are lofted.

Yeah well I does the following: linkey which if you compare with the extruded helix below is clearly not right.
