I'd say get the X server and GTK lbraries and run it
natively like the man recommends on the pysoulseek page.

Go to fink and do some reading.

Pysoulseek runs great in Linux, I daresay in some ways it's
better than the real thing.

If you're going to get this thing working you're going to
learn a fair bit about Unix. Lucky duckies!

Yup, I really like Python. I write little utilities for work
in it, and I'm learning the object oriented stuff for future
reference. This is good because I don't really know any
general purpose languages besides a tiny bit of C.

Enjoy the files... I got them from the infamous FTP which is
now down.

You don't have to be a programmer to get a Python-based
program running in OSX! You just have to learn your way
around Unix a bit. Figure out where files go and stuff.

You have the advantage of a really top notch Apple interface
to help you along... it's not rocket science.

Roygbivcore, maybe take a little time out and get a book on
basic unix commands, spend some time reading up on it. Unix
can be your friend.

Let me see if I can find my old unix books and get some
names for you.....

You could also try a google search for OS X reference.

http://www.allosx.com/ looks promising.

Someone was writing a OS X native client for soulseek. I
wonder how far along he is? Check the pyslsk forum.
