music overload?

I've been listening to sooo much shit lately. I've got
access to a local CD Club and can get 5 CDs a day. Besides,
I use both WinMX and slsk to download shit. Geez.
IDM. Techno. Noise. Downtempo. Trip-hop. Jazzy.
Venetian Snares. Bogdan Raczynski. Merzbow. Funki Porcini.
Arovane. Ovuca. Laurent Garnier. Jeff Mills.

So much discoveries for me, so much evolution of my musical
taste and viewpoint. At the same time, so much an overload
for psychics - all that clutching, itching, scratching.
Nah...

Have you ever been into this? Kinda "overdose" of music, be
it good or bad?

I think it's better to fully appreciate one great track than
to not really care for hundreds of tracks...(there has to be
some quote or saying about this...)

I only get the "overdose" effect when I play the tracks at
inappropriate(what a word!) times.

I feel that way right now... I have so much music but I
haven't heard anywhere near all of it... and I have a tough
time figuring out what to listen to and get to know next.
I'm just fucking overwhelmed, 24 hours is not enough to get
all the listening done that I want to in a day.

Maybe. But on the other hand, it's obviously better to enjoy
two tracks than to enjoy one, eh? And three is even
better... so on... so forth...

Besides, thers is a 'search' question: yous, my single track
I have is good, but maybe there is something better? I have
to listen to this and that to find the Supreme Shit for me.
And while I search, my perception of music changes, and
Supreme Shit goes farther and farther ahead of me...

i have 7 albums, still shrink wrapped, on my desk at school.

It's a rough life being an idm devotee

There's also one more shit: okay, right now I'm satisfied
with quantity of my shit. But I gotta realize that at some
point I'll need more. So how can I NOT
download/buy/trade/etc it NOW, when I have the means to do
it (Internet/cash/etc)? Maybe later I'll be unable to do
this, and will sit at home, absolutely without new music to
"consume", and think "What a fuck I was!!!"...

Geez... Life is full of contradictions.

Absolutely =)
Right now I'm d/l'ing satanstornade, samurai math beats and
winter in a belly of a snake... and 3xMP3CD of Merzbow is
already coming... But there's still sooo much shit
"unlistened" :(

Yep, 24 hours are absolutely not enough. And there's also
shit like work, meals and sleep that interfere in the
process of "music consumption"... I'd be glad to cut on
work, but have to cut on sleep instead :) It's fucking 4am
now here, and I'm still messing around with slsk :)

i feel a little left behind, i don't know what this "IDM"
everyone is talking about is? feels somewhat stupid not to
know.

ISayNothing > IDM = "Intelligent Dance Music"...
doesn't mean anything but it's aphex twin, squarepusher,
autechre, plaid, venetian snares, etc.

music overload... sometimes i feel this way.

one or two years ago, i was getting like, a cd in two months
and downloading just a little more, and when i was
listening, i was playing it over and over and over again!

now... i get like two cds a month, and download a lot more
(well i used to since opennap won't work enough anymore),
and i happened to play a cd only once or twice (especially
the ones i downloaded).
confield, for example.
it is a great album, and i only listened to it fully 2 or 3
times so far.

(of course, some cds "stick" more than others... autechre is
good but isn't sticky... but still...)

Geez... I think I wouldn't even notice a volume you have
just described :) 5 CDs per day - huh?

...however, there still are some albums that I've listened
to some 50 times. Tri Repetae is one of 'em.

That's it. And that's why I take everything I can get -
cause at some point the flow may stop...
